  1. We are always running out of ice and this has solved the problem. I wish I would have bought this a long time ago. This ice maker is excellent and will delivery the 26 lbs. of ice per day. What a lot of people don’t understand about countertop ice makers is that when the ice is made it is about 27 degrees and the ice maker is not a storage freezer. Think of it like the ice that was just made will sit in the ice maker which is like keeping ice in a cooler. It won’t get colder it will just slowly melt and then gets turned back into ice again.Keep in mind when you pull ice out of your kitchen freezer that has been in there for several hours it is around 0 degrees vs. the 27 degrees right out of the countertop ice maker. So, ice from your freezer is going to last a lot longer in a drink than ice out of this countertop ice maker. So, that may not be ideal for some if you are having a drink outside on a hot day and not using an insulated cup. For best results take the ice out of the countertop ice maker and put it in a gallon ziplock bag and place it in the freezer for a little while so it will get down to the 0 degrees. That is not necessary though. The ice that comes right out of the machine is plenty cold enough for drinking beverages indoors. If you want to use the ice outdoors just place the ice in an insulated cup.Pros:Very quality built machine.Very easy to use.It uses lights to notify you of the status rather than annoying beeps. It really does make 26 lbs. of ice in an hour.First ice in about 8 minutes.Full basket of ice in about an hour.Pauses itself when ice basket is full and will resume ice production automatically as soon as some ice is removed.Light comes on when water needs to be added (keep in mind you still have a full basket of ice when this triggers).Melts very slowly and if you leave it on over night it only comes on once or twice to replace the ice that melted.Quite operation. It doesn’t take up a lot of countertop space so we are able to leave it out and it matches our stainless steel fridge. It comes with a nice ice scoop which is great for parties. This ice maker keeps dropping ice every 8 minutes. The cord is very long so it doesn’t have to be right up against the outlet.Cons:The only con I have about the machine is trying to drain the water remaining when you are done using it. There is a drain plug underneath it that is a little tricky to use because you can’t see underneath the machine and you can’t just turn the machine upside down to drain it per their instructions. That will harm the machine. What I found to be a great solution is instead of using the drain plug I use a microfiber towel to soak up all the water left in the machine. That only takes a quick second and you don’t have to move the ice maker over the sink to drain it. I then leave the lid open to make sure it dries out. So it really isn’t a con if you use the microfiber towel. It is so easy this way which means I never mind using the machine even to make a small amount of ice.

  2. This product is certainly “easy to install”. I put that in quotes, since you need a water line coming in, and a drain line going out. It’s very easy, in that it just plugs into your power outlet (no hard wiring), but if you aren’t particularly handy you might need a plumber to run those lines for you. But it’s not a complicated install either way. Some things to note, and none of these are ‘knocks’ on the Euhomy, this is the way all ice makers in this category operate, but if you’re just getting one for the first time for your house, maybe you didn’t know.1) The bin where the ice is stored is just a bin. Ice in there will slowly melt over time. Only the part of the machine where the ice is made is chilled. This is probably a good thing for you. It makes this product much more affordable, and it is friendlier to your electric bill.2) You need three things – a power outlet (regular 110V), a water line coming in (same as your refrigerator’s ice maker needed), and a drain line coming out – remember that bin? When ice melts, it becomes water. That will pool on the floor, or you can run the line and remove the water. Do that. ;)In my case, we installed it in our garage. It’s not obnoxiously loud, but if you put it in your kitchen, you WILL hear the condenser come on as it’s making ice. It sits about 6 feet from our hot water heater, so we had a relatively easy install, we had a guy tap that water line for the heater, and run it also to the Euhomy. Voila, ice coming in! We installed a water filter in between the water line and the ice maker, because filtration! For the drain line, there was no way to get it safely outside my garage floor without a condensate pump. All ice makers like this rely on a gravity drain. If the drain line runs DOWN, gravity will ensure the water leaves. The further you run that line, the less likely you can keep it sloping downward. So any local big box hardware store will sell for under $100 a water condensate pump. Run the line to the pump, and then from the pump to a place where it’s safe for water to go, and you’re good to go. Our line from the ice maker to the pump is a downward slope, and the pump has a float, then when it floats that means enough water is in the unit, and it pumps it out of our house. Get a good pump, the cheap ones fail relentlessly. Our same plumber ran that line right next to where the water heater’s exit line was, drilled a small hole, and boom – all my melted ice water flows safely to the grass outside my garage. One last thing… I’ll say it again. If you need a condensate pump, buy a good one. The first one we had died really quick. The cheap ones are very cheap, and being in the garage didn’t help (the motor overheated). We knew it failed right away, there was puddle of water on the floor one morning, and the unit was very hot. It had a small fan near the power supply that burned out within a month of installation. I bought a much better pump, and have had no problems yet. It also has a float-less design (one less thing to get ‘stuck’) and lots of indicators. Don’t spend $400-500 on a ice maker, and possibly $200-400 on a plumber and then stick a cheap pump in there. Get a good pump if you need it!Because it’s in a garage, and because that garage is in South Florida, I did use the timer feature to let it “freeze” ice longer. I have it set to +4 – which basically means it freezes the ice an additional four minutes before dropping it in the bin. The ice was a little to “soft” with some unfrozen water in the middle of the cube otherwise. Depending on where your ice maker is, you might not need that drastic an adjustment. It still makes ice really quick and really often. The ONLY other quirk is… it’s rainy season in Florida. We get a lot of thunderstorms, and our power likes to blip out for a minute or two sometimes. This unit will NOT turn itself back on. So some morning I walk in, and the bin is less than full because the power in the house went out briefly. Push the power button, reset my timer to +4 and I’m good to go. I wish it had an auto-power feature to turn itself back on. I may add a small UPS to avoid the power interruptions, and to prolong the life on the unit.

  3. Some ice makers are extremely noisy in comparison, quiet and quick

  4. This is awesomeSuper quick to make ice and it’s so easy to use ! Totally a wicked purchase if you don’t have a built in with your fridge !

  5. Useful ice maker that arrived when it said it would.

The media could not be loaded.  Hello I am from the Bahamas and i am an entrepreneur, I was interested in buying an ice machine because i sell beverages on the road, and stumbled across this product, based on the reviews. I was a bit skeptical at first because of the bad reviews so I asked a friend and also my dad what were their opinions, my dad told me to give it another week (decision making process) and my friend told me to get this. So I got this the following week, as was advised from my friend, as this was and probably still is number #1 top Commercial ice machine and a fast seller. The installation wasn’t all too hard, despite me having no experience in plumbing nor electrical, it took back and forth trips to the hardware store and probably about $300 in labor and supplies which comprised of the electrical and plumbing work of course. After the installation was completed I gave it an additional 12 hours prior to starting it up to ensure the PVC glue cured well, hence the machine received more than 24 hours in an upright position as stated (advised) on the front facing. I started the machine the next day and allowed it to self-clean for 20 minutes before making the first batch of ice. Everything sounded normal, however during this phase i thought the machine encountered a problem due to the length of time it took to fill up with water (flashing arrow indicating machine is filling up) to my avail that eventually disappeared and the machine cleaning phase had completed and it went into ice making mode automatically. All i did was watch as the ice was being slowly made, i stepped out of the shed to do some other work around the house and came back to see what was the state of it, it was flashing “08 min” indicating 8 minutes left before the completion of the first batch of ice. The ice fell into the bin( a bit loudly), but i didn’t mind all i wanted was ice. There it was my first (premature formed) batch of ice. After witnessing it dispense the first batch, i left it alone for 2-3 hours, coming back however i was shocked to see how little ice it had made. I then began to observe it more closely to discern exactly what could be causing it to make premature ice and not fill up. I noticed after every batch of ice that was made, the dispensing tube would wet the bin up (that the ice would drop in) and sort of defeat the purpose of what the machine was intended to do(make ice). Immediately i contacted customer support, and was advised to send videos accompanied with other information. Willow responded in about under a day, after all it was over the weekend so i had assumed company hours was offline at the time, fortunately i didn’t had to wait until Monday for a response and got a message from Willow @ Euhomy customer support on sunday. Willow said the tube letting out the water above the ice trays was not positioned properly and if i would not mind to rotate the tube where the holes (nine of them) would point downwards. I did that (very easy to do) and started the machine again.WaLah ! 🙂 Happy Boy, Ice was now maturely being produced and was not melting down after every completed cycle. I will upload pictures and a video. The machine has been running almost 7 days str8 so far it has encountered one (E2) error, but i think that was because the bin being full of ice held down the white flap for a while (presumably speaking). I am pleased that with this product and would advise other people to buy it as well, customer service is quite reputable. I wanted to upload the video of what it was doing prior to the fix but i could of only uploaded 1 video. ~ Additional note: Makes a TON of ice ~Update: Excellent Customer Support, I’d recommend this product or any Euhomy product to anyone interested in ice machines(No wonder they are #1 in commercial ice machines ^_^), just based on their customer support reliability. ~SIX STARS ~

  7. The media could not be loaded.  ==========Final update: 7/25/2023: OnPoint responded to the BBB complaint. I was offered to continue waiting an undetermined amount of time for a 3rd new unit, I opted to get completely out of this mess. The 2nd unit is being shipped back right now and upon receipt, GE is providing a full refund. Meanwhile I already have an Opal 1 in its place and quite happy, and it was about 1/2 the price. So what would you gain by going the Opal 2 route (other than a giant headache)? A front panel that lights up letting you know, by words, what is going on with the ice maker. The Opal 1 has an LED ring that pulses or changes color and you kinda have to decipher it but it isn’t any big deal. The 2 also has the app and you can schedule the ice maker to turn on and off at certain times or even tap a button on your phone to turn it on or off. I kinda liked that so what I’ve already done is programmed a smart plug to work on a schedule and it can be controlled via app as well so nothing lost there.’Sonic’ ice is absolutely spectacular. There are now lots of these ice makers on the market. My biggest advice is to make sure to get one that includes a side tank or is directly plumbed to your R/O system otherwise you’ll forever be jumping up and refilling small amounts of water.===========Another update: 7/17/2023: I submitted a complaint with the BBB over the weekend regarding OnPoint Warranty Solutions LLC which is the official support group for GE Opal. I also offered to provide 33 emails I’ve had with support (sent/received). I have still not had any communication returned from support. Buyer beware if you need any product support, which you most likely will. Working on figuring out a contact directly with GE to discuss the product and experience with support. I had actually requested this information from Onpoint but have not had a response.===========Update 7/13/2023: nothing to report. GE Opal “advanced” support has gone completely dark. No tracking info on a replacement unit (which by the way would be Unit #3 since March). I’ve requested tracking info multiple times on the 3rd unit and they are non-responsive. I think these Opal units are like playing craps, sometimes you run hot and have a great time, but most of the time you end up heading back to your hotel room early with nothing in your pocket because the casino drained you.Not sure what else to say. Tomorrow I will be contacting the BBB. Shoddy engineering on product, worse on support. To recent purchasers, enjoy the ice, it is indeed fantastic. Just be ready to have your experience take a 180 on you. Then I wish you the best of luck with your giant paperweight.I’m still holding onto hope that I’ll be able to provide a much better update on this.==========Review written by my husband.DO NOT BUY. Absolutely terrible product and terrible support. Yes when it works the ice is spectacular, but go buy the Opal 1 version. I know multiple people who have the Opal 1, never use distilled water and never descale and never have problems. The GE developers got this product wrong.Purchased March 11, 2023. Plain and simple, this product has issues and support is terrible. Within a couple of weeks of purchasing we noticed some strange noises coming from the unit. Not much longer the noise became overwhelming and we simply had to just turn the unit completely off (see video that support requested from me). Too late to return so we worked with Opal support. The experience overall has been terrible. The number one thing that support says is to always use distilled water. Yet nowhere on the product does it state this and I don’t know anyone who would buy an expensive ice maker to also have to always purchase special water to use in it. We have an R/O system in place and always use that. The other thing that support will say is that every two weeks you have to descale the unit. This means removing all ice and draining all water, adding in a mixture of water and vinegar and running that through the cleaning cycle several times, then flush that all out, wiping everything down good, make several batches of ice and throw that away to make sure you are not mixing all that vinegar in with your icewater or drink. The descaling process basically take overnight as you have to stuff a rag or sponge up into the unit and let it sit during this downtime process. We also purchased the official GE Opal filter. This makes no difference in operation of this unit and is a waste of money. After working with support for weeks and weeks, they finally said they would send a replacement unit. Their standard process for replacement is to send a refurbished unit. So now you pay lots of money for a product that doesn’t work right only to get a unit that someone else had a problem with and was returned? Upon receipt of this ‘new’ replacement unit, the instructions state that there could be some leftover crud from their cleaning process. Yeah, okay, see the next picture. I spent two hours trying to clean that crap out of the unit, flushed several cycles through, tossed ice, that stuff is still everywhere. I decided to keep trying to clean it anyway. BUT, when I then proceeded to connect the unit to my home network, the password printed on the label on the back of the unit didn’t work. I struggled for some time before reaching out to support and providing that information plus the picture of the disgusting unit. The manager seemed a bit shocked and personally called me, the unit should never have been shipped that way and it was obvious and acknowledged that they completely messed up repairing someone else’s returned unit that had wifi problems and wasn’t cleaned right and then sent to me. The outcome of this: I was told I would be receiving a brand new replacement unit. Flash forward 2 1/2 weeks later, I still have not received any shipping/tracking information and unit #2 that I have at the house now sits dark on the counter. When I asked repeatedly for tracking information I was asked to have patience as the supply chain was having issues. At this point I specifically requested a full refund as it has been several months with nothing but a crappy experience and very little ice to enjoy along the way. We’ll see how this all pans out but my advice based on my personal experience with this product and their support is to avoid it completely. I was going to suggest to purchase the extra coverage but I can’t in good conscience advise anyone to pay for this product period. Go out and google opal ice maker noise, or why does my opal ice maker scream like a banshee, something along those lines. You’ll see lots of people sharing. For many this occurs after the warranty period (you know, that time where they’ll gladly send you a used replacement) and they tear the thing apart and try to experiment with different ideas to solve the problem. One post I read even said the buyer eventually just tossed it in his garage because it is unusable.I’ll update this review once I hear something back from support. But this purchase has been nothing but pure frustration and a huge time waster. The simple fact that they say you have to use distilled water and a full descaling/cleaning with downtime every two weeks should create a class action suit as nowhere does the product state this when considering a purchase. I’m mad as hell about this purchase but it sure looks like GE doesn’t care, or stand by it’s products.

  9. I have a condition where I have to increase water intake, and I prefer my water with ice, so I thought this would help. This icemaker has worked great so far, the design is pretty robust and it makes enough ice to keep up with my 5 person office (I’m nice and sharing). This is a continuous circulation design, so as ice is made, it’s dumped into a tray, which melts into a water holding tank, which is then recirculated in the freezing chamber on top.The freezing device consists of several rods with stubby extensions which rotate into a shallow pan of water which is filled via pump from the reservoir beneath the ice basket. The stubs of the rods submerge and as they cool, ice forms around them, making cup shaped cubes. There are options for small or large. My one worry was that the ice would not be very cold and would melt and break quickly, but the larger size cube is quite robust and solid. With the lid down the cubes last fairly long, enough so I’m not bothering to transfer them to the freezer to save them. If I kept the icemaker in a hot room or garage this might not be as practical, but it works very efficiently in an air conditioned office. As the small plastic basket fills, there’s some sort of sensor that automatically shuts off the machine from creating another load, so it can be left relatively unattended. I haven’t paid much attention to the scooping design which collects the cubes and dumps them into the basket, but there haven’t been any problems with it so far.I use water from a filtered fountain and the cubes taste fine, perhaps even better than the water straight out of the filter. I have not tested with unfiltered water, but the water is so gross in my neck of the woods I would be afraid to damage it.I work around a lot of humming machines, so the noise is easy for me to tune out. It can be a little noisy when cycling, so if you’re sensitive to that sort of thing you might want to put it in a different room. I honestly don’t care either way, because the ice is convenient and delicious!Very glad I purchased it, and wavering on getting a second one for at home.

  10. I waited and waited and read many reviews and finally bought this during prime deal days and I’m so glad I did! Some say it’s runs loud, but it doesn’t bother me. It’s in the kitchen, not my bedroom. I bought the XL tank and love everything about it. I was worried the ice would melt quick in my glass, but it doesn’t. Just buy it!Update 4 months later- I have a love hate relationship with this machine. I get “add water” multiple times a week (sometimes multiple times a day) even when the tank is full. I read online the water line can get air bubbles, so I have to lift the tank, open the drawer then shut it and hold tank for 30 seconds or so to get it going. Gets SO annoying.Cleaning is a pain. I’ve leaked so much water everywhere doing it. Finally this most recent time I think I got the hang of it.Lately machine has just shut off a few times. Ugh. Could be a melted ice mess if I hadn’t noticed. On the positive side, I still don’t think it runs “loud”. It’s in the kitchen so it doesn’t bother me at all.Update 6 months later- I completely removed the side tank. So much better and also easier to clean. We have a family of 4 and I only have to add water a few times a week. Much easier and also smaller and fits better in the corner of the kitchen with out the side tank.

  11. As a tenant of a cozy apartment, finding appliances that fit my limited space without sacrificing functionality is always a challenge. That’s why I’m beyond thrilled with my AGLUCKY Ice Maker! This compact gem has been a game-changer. Here’s how:Efficiency and Speed: The AGLUCKY Ice Maker lives up to its promise, churning out 9 bullet-shaped ice cubes in just 6 to 8 minutes. It’s impressive how quickly I can get a batch ready for my morning smoothie or an impromptu get-together with friends.Capacity and Performance: Despite its compact size, this ice maker works hard, producing up to 26.5 pounds of ice in 24 hours. I’ve never run out of ice, even when hosting a small party. The two selectable ice sizes are perfect for different needs, from cooling drinks to packing a cooler for a picnic.Self-Cleaning Feature: Living in a small space means I highly value appliances that are easy to maintain, and the AGLUCKY doesn’t disappoint. The self-cleaning function ensures the machine stays clean and hygienic with minimal effort on my part, a feature that’s especially important in a compact living environment.Portability: I was pleasantly surprised by how portable this ice maker is. It fits perfectly on my kitchen countertop without taking up much space, and I can easily move it if I need to rearrange things or take it to a friend’s place for an event. The AGLUCKY Ice Maker is a must-have for any small apartment dweller who loves to entertain or simply enjoys the convenience of having fresh ice on demand.

  12. I’ve had this ice maker for a few months now and it’s been great. I love the size of the pellets and they are soft enough to crunch without damaging your teeth. Kind of like Sonic ice. I keep it unplugged when we don’t need ice and when I start it back up to replenish, it makes a good amount of ice within 30 minutes or so. So I am happy with the speed. The ice maker makes a hum noise that is to be expected for an ice maker but is not loud enough to interfere with conversation or tv watching. The size is also fairly compact. It fits under my cabinetry in the kitchen and is not too wide. I was happy about that. The unit also comes with a line to plug into a water line in case you want constant water flow to the unit. I have not used this. I just plug it in when I’m ready for more ice. I thought it was a nice touch, though. One thing to note is that since the unit is not refrigerated, the ice will eventually melt if you don’t transfer it to a container or ziplock bag and put it in the freezer. Also, because the ice is wet when you freeze it, it hardens into a block unless you shake the bag/container up periodically while the wet parts of the ice solidify. I have found chipping at the ice with a knife (carefully) breaks the ice apart nicely and quickly if you don’t have time to shake periodically. That said, neither of these things is a problem for me but are good to know going in. Overall, I am super happy with this product. It has been a life saver for staying hydrated in general, after surgery, and during flu season. Great product for the money. Would definitely recommend.

  13. I wonder if this type of model is made by an OEM, with slight changes in the case for companies, because about a year ago, I purchased something similar. Both work well.Overall, I have had excellent luck with this design. After running a few loads of ice after opening it, I just pour water in, let it make a basket of ice, which is enough for some decent drinks. Any excess, I toss into a Ziploc bag and toss into my freezer, then refill back to the fill line. This helps because I’m not waiting hours for a freezer to make cubes with ice cube trays. For cleaning, it doesn’t hurt to drain, run vinegar through it with a self-cleaning circle, drain that, add a water with baking soda (which neutralizes any acid), run that through a cycle or two, drain that, maybe even run a rinse to be safe, and after that, the ice stays fresh tasting.Overall, a good purchase, and in Texas, a must have come summer.

  14. I recently purchased the Mueller Nugget Ice Maker and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! This countertop ice machine has truly exceeded my expectations in every way.First and foremost, the quiet operation of this ice maker is absolutely remarkable. I can barely hear it running, even when it’s producing ice at its maximum capacity. This feature alone sets it apart from other ice makers on the market, making it perfect for use in any environment, whether it’s in the kitchen, office, or even the bedroom. The design of the Mueller Nugget Ice Maker is sleek and modern, complementing any space it’s placed in. Its compact size makes it ideal for countertops, saving valuable space without sacrificing functionality. I love how it seamlessly integrates into my kitchen without being obtrusive. But perhaps the best part about this ice maker is the quality of ice it produces. The nugget ice it churns out is perfectly shaped and oh-so-crunchy, making every drink a refreshing delight. Whether I’m enjoying a cold beverage at home or hosting a gathering with friends, the ice from this machine always impresses.Another aspect that I appreciate is its ease of use. Operating the Mueller Nugget Ice Maker is straightforward, with intuitive controls that allow me to adjust settings with ease. Plus, the cleaning process is simple and hassle-free, ensuring that maintenance is a breeze.Overall, I highly recommend the Mueller Nugget Ice Maker to anyone in need of a reliable, quiet, and efficient countertop ice machine. Its exceptional performance, stylish design, and user-friendly features make it a standout product that brings joy to every use.

  15. I searched for an ice machine and kept seeing machines in the $100 range. I kept searching and found this machine. I am so glad I did. I saw the reviews where people complained about the noise but I do not think it is so bad. I was buying Ice at the supermarket and hated running out. This machine makes Ice to fill a couple of i gallon pitchers in about 40 minutes. I am very happy. I use spring water for the ice and I love it.My only complaint is that it does not use all of the water you put in and i am afraid the plug in the bottom will wear out.

  16. It’s small enough for use in my kitchenette. Makes as much ice as I need. It’s as I expected.

  17. I love the option of ice cube size. Works perfectly for our family of two. (You might want something larger if more people will be using it.) Makes ice fast.

  18. Makes bullet shaped ice. Uses 2 bottles for a good amount of ice. If you don’t take the ice out as soon as it is made it’ll just melt. Would be nice if you could just leave it in there as it is made.

  19. I bought this to replace an old one that had stopped working. This new one is even more amazing than the original we purchased, which is saying a lot. The separate tank is great and makes the unit even better. I love this.

  20. -Review written by “the wife” 🙂 I purchased this ice maker about 8 months ago and it is still working great! I bought it because our refrigerator ice maker just can’t always keep up with the ice demand in our home. This little ice maker has been a great solution. I do not use it every day. Mostly weekends and holidays when everyone is mostly home or during gatherings. Some of the reviews talk about the noise it makes; it is a little noisy, but not enough to bother anybody in our home. It’s easy to ignore, IMO and no one else has ever complained. It is very simple to use. Simple to clean. I run the cleaning cycle with vinegar water every other week and run a quick cleaning cycle of just plain water once a week. I also only use spring water/drinking water I purchase from the store to help prevent mineral build up and to keep the ice tasting good. It makes small, soft nugget ice that is easy on your teeth if you are an ice cruncher like me and my daughter. Be sure and read the manual and instructions. As long as you follow the recommended use, it should treat you well. I’ve been very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend.

  21. This icemaker does everything the seller stated. Purchased this while I was waiting for the icemaker to be repaired. I am glad I did.

  22. Just a great addition to the kitchen. Easily set up in the counter. No connections or drains required. The small ice nuggets are just right for munching and drinks.

  24. Good machine does great

  25. I bought one for my office and one for home. I use dionized water at my office and it does make a difference. I use reverse osmosis at home and I like the dionized better. Great machine.

  26. This works great but a little slow. I just pick a day and make several batches and throw them in the fridge freezer as my appliance ice make quit working, then the water messed up so had to turn it off totally. This is great for making ice but you cant store them in this as they melt too fast. Not a large cube but great when you dont have any!!

  27. Súper fácil de usar, es muy práctica y además el tamaño es ideal. No tarda mucho en hacer el hielo y en consistencia está bien.

  28. Our ice maker in the refrigerator went out and so it was a good time to order this one!Even the dogs love it since its small pcs and easy for them to chew
