  1. I love the Kindle app. I’ve had it on two Android phones (Moment and Evo), an iTouch, and two iPads (1 & 2). It works perfectly on all of them!! I’ve never had it crash.I know this is a review for the Android version, but I only mention my other devices because of the fact that I love how it sync’s information between devices. I did not know this as I had read most of a book on an iTouch and then stopped reading it for a few months. When I installed it on my Evo I re-downloaded the book thinking I might go ahead and finish it but was concerned that I might not remember where I left off. but when I opened the book, it took me right to the spot I had left off.I must say, this impresses the living daylights out of me!! Thank you, Amazon, for adding that as a feature.Otherwise, it does everything you need in a book reader. You can bookmark, you can change the size of the text, you can even change the coloring (I prefer Sepia when reading during the day and Black when reading at night). In the Android version you can even “share” your progress so you can brag about what you’ve read to all your friends or those who might be reading with you. You can even shop for books right inside the app.I love this and it is no wonder that Kindle is such a strong contender in the eReader fields and it is always the first ebook reader I install any time I get a compatible device. I look forward to what they release in the future as I’m sure it will only get better.

  2. This is a great app. It’s fast, very easy to use and has a good, well-rounded selection of eBooks. To use, tap on the app to open…and then just tap on a book that’s displayed (the app gives a very brief synopsis & category listing)….you will then be automatically taken to the book on Amazon; where you can read a more detailed synopsis, read a sample from the book, with options from Amazon to download a sample of the book, buy the book, or return to the app. All accomplished in mere moments. Additionally, the app itself is preconfigured to accomplish this without one having to do anything. That said, the app does allow for individual customization, just open “setting” and select/ deselect the ebook categories that are of Interest. Other than taping on a book to select it, scroll up and down the listings to get to other books. The app loads very quickly. One really nice feature of this app, is that when you tap on an ebook to be taken to the Amazon web page….the app will remind you to “check the price” before purchasing. The app apparently updates daily. While I don’t know the background of it’s developer, I would not be surprised if our included Library Science. Again, great app.If I had one request, it would be that it had a option to include eBooks on a separate page/ at the end of the list (as in the free selections)….but for purchase.

  3. I was happy going to used book stores, book sales, and trading books. I liked to “hold” a book. How wrong I was! I got a tablet. Then I got the Kindle for Android app. I will never be the same. I go absolutely nowhere without my tablet. I seldom use my tablet for anything other than the Kindle app. In the couple of years I’ve had it, I have about 3,000 books downloaded. Most are safely housed in the cloud, but a good many are downloaded to my device. My huge selection of books go everywhere with me – with no lugging heavy books. Maybe you like to carry a heavy or even light book that takes up room, but I prefer taking 20 or 30 books with me that take virtually no space – only the slim size of my tablet. When I finish a book, I have a huge selection to choose from to start another one. You would have to carry two handheld books if you’re nearly at the end of one and need another. The Kindle app has made life so much easier! I always have many things to read, not to mention the book prices are phenomenal and so very affordable – especially the free ones, that have introduced me to many fantastic authors I might never have heard of or read, had it not been for the Kindle app. And it’s free! It doesn’t get better than that! I have the app, not only on my tablet, but my desktop and laptop and my book(s) will sync perfectly, regardless which device I’m using. I am 66 and wish I’d been able to grow up with a Kindle app — I am so thankful I have one now, and will always have plenty of great books to read. I do thank you, Kindle, and the many great authors!

  4. Call me jaded, but putting the words “free” and “books” together generally means “these aren’t very good”. Even at garage sales, seeing the books in the “Free!” box isn’t a rousing endorsement. This little app gives you a number of books that fall into the good, the bad, and the yawn. As with the whole of Amazon, the books cover all manner of reading matter. The good are those kinds that you personally like. Likewise, the bad you don’t, and the yawns evoke “so what”. It’s an invitation to try something new. (I seldom read fiction, but have found a few gems.)It doesn’t update when a book changes from free to priced. They warn you to look at the price before buying. Still, it’s annoying to go get it and find a price instead of zeroes. Depending on the time you browse the app, you might find yesterday’s books still listed. That’s when you really need to watch for a probable price.I do recommend this app. Just be aware of the “yesterday’s books” warning and the free/price dilemma. It’s worth checking out, because if it’s today’s list (instead of yesterday’s) you’ll usually get the book free.

I want everyone to know about this app!Free books in different categories such as fiction, non-fiction (self help, cookbooks, how to, etc.), romance, sci-fi, diets, childrens, teens, Christian, erotica, the list goes on.I like the ability to set it up so that the categories I am not interested in, are hidden. I can change this at any time. There is no search; what you see is what you get to scope out. They become yours and they don’t expire. Each book has reviews and recommendation ratings via star system. The actual “book” price is listed as well as the digital book price (what it costs before the free day and what it will cost the following day when it is no longer free.I live in the EST zone and have noticed that the free book list USUALLY updates between 2:30 and 3:00 a.m. however, from what I have read, the administrator of this outstanding app is apparently doing us all the huge favor of personally searching for these wonderful freebies. As this must be a very time consuming task, the free book list several times a week, doesn’t update until later in the afternoon however, the administrator leaves a nice message before the opening page to let you know it hasn’t been updated yet, that you can continue to look at the listing from the day before, but they also warn to double check the price (too see if it is for some reason, still FREE) before hitting “BUY.” Also, you are kindly asked to check back later.I have seen new lists each and every day; a day may be late but it is not skipped.I had actually considered paying the monthly fee or purchase Amazon Prime just for the books but hey, because of this outstanding app and the administrator behind it all, reading just got free and I save the $99 Amazon Prime annual fee!I look forward to checking the list on a daily basis; it’s like getting a smorgasbord of birthday gifts🎁 where you decide which ones you want; no strings attached! This truly us my favorite app and I would like to thank the administrator for all the heart work of putting it together on a daily basis for us all. Bravo! 🏆

  7. I have Kindle installed in all of my devices (Android smart phone, Android tablet, laptop and desktop computer). This application works perfectly, regardless of which device I am using and I am able to change devices seamlessly. I do not have a dedicated E-reader so I cannot comment about that.Amazon Kindle has many things that I quite like:(1) Installation of the Kindle application was easy, regardless of device. A Luddite like me really appreciates that.(2) Kindle is able to remember the last page I was reading.(3) Since Kindle stores my book titles (purchased and samples) in the Amazon Kindle Cloud, this enables me to download my book titles to whichever I device I decide to use (keeping an inventory, as it were). This feature is wonderful because I don’t have to purchase my book again.(4) Whenever I change devices, I like how Kindle asks if I want to stay on the current page (from the device I am using) or to switch to the page I was on when I was using a previous device.(5) I like how I am able to both highlight text and bookmark my various pages.(6) I really like how I am able to store over a 1,000 “books” in each of my devices. Much easier to carry than traditional books, whilst allowing me the option to change books whenever I feel like it.All in all, I will say that this Kindle application is wonderful. Keep up the great work!

  9. I don’t know when was the last time I had time to pick up a book and relax long enough to read more than the first page! I used to be a bookworm! With work, kids and household chores, that pleasure had gone away. This was until I started using Audible; now I can fold laundry, cook and drive while catching up on books I’d been wanting to read. I had had this idea in the past, but for some reason (can’t really say what it was) previous Apps that I used did not satisfy me. When I first gave Audible a try I thought “here we go again”, another attempt which was probably going to fail. To my surprise, this particular platform stuck! Perhaps it’s the connection to Amazon which is so used in my house or maybe it’s the monthly credit system that keeps me piling up the books. Don’t know, can’t exactly put my finger on it. Bottom line, I feel that I’ve received back a part of my life that I thought I had put on a shelf for good!

  10. I don’t usually buy audio books or lectures but by using this app I am able to listen either from my computer, my tv with the amazon fire stick or on my phone so it is GREAT. However, I paid for my auto book and wanted to download it to my computer. I finally managed to do it but figuring out how to get it from the app to my computer was a little challenging and not as user friendly as I would have liked. However, my guess is that most people do not necessarily feel the need to download and as long as they can just listen to their purchase, they are happy. Right now I am just buying my products as I go because I don’t use it that much. If I start to use it more often, I might consider the montly subscription for $14.99 but right now that’s just not worth it to me. The app is free and you can download your purchases to this app but they really want to get you for a subscription and then they offer you a few audios a month. I do like that when I restart, it goes right to where I left off. Very easy to use.

  11. I signed up for Audible because a book that I really wanted was coming out and my first two books with Audible were free, so thought I’ll just order that book, another and then quit. Five months later I’ve now listened to 38 books and can’t wait to get on to the next one. I have a library full of books waiting for me and I’m amazed I’ve found so many books I’m crazy to read. I love listening rather than reading because I can do other things around the house while I listen. I like having the people who wrote the book read it to me cause it gives more depth to the book. The ones read by actors are great too because they understand how to create characters with their voices. This has been my God send during the pandemic isolation. With prime membership, there are lots of additional podcasts and books available without cost. The best money I’ve spent in years!

  12. I was only looking for a streaming device to watch both my local football team and other games on FA player. It was this or Google Chromecast. Both were the same price because the firestick was on offer. I was advised by a mate to go for the Amazon option and how happy I am I took his advice. It’s a host of extras I didn’t expect. It has an internet browser so I can directly access both websites for to watch my local non league team and FA players website too. It comes with Alexa so I can save wear and tear on my fingers. It’s a host of free box sets and access to pay for if you want. I imagine the set up is straightforward for most people. Even I managed to do it with a little delay as I’m pretty slow with this sort of thing. RRP is £52 but offer seems to be available at £29.99 from various outlets. Got mine click and collect from Argos. Not bought a better piece of kit for as long as I can recall.

A Amazon sempre deixa esses títulos gratuitos para degustação adorei.

  14. I found this app by accident, but having spent time research it’s content I found it an excellent source for my tastes in reading material. Updated daily well worth keeping in my device.

  17. I’m fairly certain this is one of those reviews that maybe one person in Nepal will read but not be able to understand. But, for my non-English speaking friend… Here’s my review of the audible app. I currently have over 400 titles in my audible library, I’ve been a client since before Amazon bought them. And every time I mow the lawn, wash the car, whatever. I use audible as often as You’re supposed to wash your hands. My wife works at a hospital, I’m often left home alone to get into things… Things… Sometimes I find myself just sitting on the couch, listening to a book with my headphones. After a while, even the world’s best Bose QuietComfort headphones still get a little tiresome. It dawned on me that maybe there’s an app that I can cast my audible from my phone to my fire TV. I was very surprised that there’s an app and I don’t even need to use my phone, it sinks with all my other devices which is fantastic. I can listen to my books and podcasts sitting in my living room when no one’s home and I don’t need to wear my headset. It’s really cool, definitely check it out and if you don’t like it just uninstall it. Have a nice life

  19. I wouldn’t be able to stand slow and stupid drivers if I wasn’t able to be distracted by the vast amount of books I get to listen to. Even found some podcasts that are included in membership that helped me learn more about autism and other subjects. As a mother of an autistic son being able to learn as much as my can is not only helpful but when you hear that your not alone in the challenges you face, it’s comforting and feel hopeful that you can overcome those challenges and turn them into strengths.

  20. I have used on my android phones an app called Smart Audiobook Player for a few years. It is excellent. You can adjust sound, playlists, car mode, adjust playing speed plus a lot more and it works. It remembers where you are in your book.. As far as I can tell its written by and individual or small company and they have done a great job. They have a free version that works just great and a 4.99 version that they give you a few frills that makes it worth buying. In contrast I just started buying a few audible books and using the audible app. What an amazing difference. It has few to no features other than see your books and play them. After a few days of listening to a book it comes with the added feature of not remembering where you are at in the book. On a long drive, where I do all my listening it’s a big deal to need to pause the book for a minute or so and then restart it, without it rolling back 30 minutes in the book. It boggles my mind that a company like amazon/audible with their billions of dollars can’t write an app that can’t hold a candle to one written by an individual/small shop.I would not recommend using the audible app to anyone as it is buggy and little to no features.oh… also .. not so much the apps fault as audibles.. they make it really hard to look for books that are free with your membership level and exclude paid for books from the search.. Well face it their website and app are really basic in their functionality. I find myself very frustrated there also.

  22. While I love the emails I get daily from here, I was so happy to find this app. It’s very convenient to go to when you want without trying to look through a ton of emails and get sidetracked by some. This app is fairly easy to navigate. It’s like the email.

  23. I love Audible! I got it and wireless headphones to help me get to sleep at night. I don’t have to worry about it interfering with REM sleep, or having to search far to find where I quit hearing it because I set the built in time off timer. I got an external speaker for my tablet and sometimes listen to it on the road. I listen to it on the treadmill, or doing menial ordinary tasks. If I use up all of my credits, there are free books available. I take this opportunity, (as intended, I imagine) to explore different genres, or different authors than I normally would. You, of course, could stick to your everyday type of listens. As an adult, I do not have near the time I used to have to dedicate to book reading, but I can and do multi task. I love it! Why not just watch or listen to a movie? I do sometimes, but books, you know describe everything that is going on. It doesn’t matter if you can’t stop your activity to go visually check on what is going on. It works like a charm to get my brain off of the issues of the day and help me drift of to sleep. Much more safe than sleeping pills. (I would think. I don’t have any personal experience with them). I recommend it to lots of people who have trouble turning off their thoughts and getting to sleep at the end of the day.

  26. Interesting selection.sometimes there are repeats listed. If you select a lot takes a while to download.but vast majority are free. There are others you can subscribe to or you can search kindle top 100_by topic

  27. A lot of different books to choose from free. Everyone who is a reader should have this app

  29. comes in handy having it on the fire stick so i dont have to keep having head phones on , and another plus its not draining my phone battery 🙂 app is easy enough to use, would be great if it was cheaper though

  31. Wonderful app! It has helped me find many books

  32. Audible has allowed me to get back into reading. Because I don’t have much physical down time, I stopped reading for years. Now, I can listen to books while I am doing other activities throughout my day!

  33. good app, enjoy using it.

  34. Perfect fo when I need a change. I can listen to whatever my heart desires when I am tied of listening to music or watching a streaming service. Any subject/genre. Recommend to those who get headaches fom reading.

  35. I use this app daily and absolutely love it

  36. There are lots of books to choose from. Have a hard time finding non fiction in my interest. But im selective with a specific kind of read. Over all there is something for everyone.

  37. Really enjoy the app

I have been using Audible for almost a decade now. This app has allowed me to increasee the number of books I read exponentially and for that I am glad. The only reason I did not gave five stars is because I wish Amazon, therefore audible would focus simply in providing the best service possible instead of being caught up on the whole liberal mindset, fight for equality, fight agaisnt racism, or trying to subconsciously tell me whcih politician is good or bad. It is really frustated to open my open and have to see books about topics or people that I would never in my life look up too – I am a costumer of Audible becuase of the Service the company provides, I dont need the company trying to influence me when it comes to my political, social or culture belifes by “recommending” books related to these topics.I hope you understand that your role is as a service company, not as a propaganda tool and social experiment.
