  1. I purchased this ice maker and received it within the time promised. I then had the unit installed professionally by a licensed plumber only to learn that unit would not make any ice. After months of emails to the manufacturer , no solution was made. They recommended I get a local service tech to diagnose the problem. I was unable to find any service company as no one knew of the brand and refused service. I finally coerced my air conditioning guy to look at the unit. It turned out there was no freon in the unit and he told me the unit was made in 2008. Really? 12 years old? No wonder it had no freon! The unit now makes ice, but my service guy said many parts are corroded internally. This is not good news since no one will service this product. Amazon said it was out of warranty even though I had all documentation of correspondence. Then Amazon said they would credit my account if I would Fed Ex it back to California ($1,000). Unacceptable by anyone’s standards. I purchased a new ice machine, not a 12 year old broken one. Needless to say, I am very dissatisfied and do not recommend this product at all. I am also not satisfied with Amazon’s handling of the situation. I sure hope it makes ice for a long time to come. It is also very loud and needs to be in the garage.

  2. Works great so far. Package came within a week of ordering. Delivery came in 2 shipments that were packed nicely. It was easy to install and came with all the necessary parts. Only downside was the flimsy water filter. I’m not sure if it will last hanging on my wall. Once the machine gets rolling the bin fills up fast and produces ice in less than 16 minutes. The cubes are good size and very clear. Not as quiet as the machine I had before but the fan is pretty powerful.

  3. We are always running out of ice and this has solved the problem. I wish I would have bought this a long time ago. This ice maker is excellent and will delivery the 26 lbs. of ice per day. What a lot of people don’t understand about countertop ice makers is that when the ice is made it is about 27 degrees and the ice maker is not a storage freezer. Think of it like the ice that was just made will sit in the ice maker which is like keeping ice in a cooler. It won’t get colder it will just slowly melt and then gets turned back into ice again.Keep in mind when you pull ice out of your kitchen freezer that has been in there for several hours it is around 0 degrees vs. the 27 degrees right out of the countertop ice maker. So, ice from your freezer is going to last a lot longer in a drink than ice out of this countertop ice maker. So, that may not be ideal for some if you are having a drink outside on a hot day and not using an insulated cup. For best results take the ice out of the countertop ice maker and put it in a gallon ziplock bag and place it in the freezer for a little while so it will get down to the 0 degrees. That is not necessary though. The ice that comes right out of the machine is plenty cold enough for drinking beverages indoors. If you want to use the ice outdoors just place the ice in an insulated cup.Pros:Very quality built machine.Very easy to use.It uses lights to notify you of the status rather than annoying beeps. It really does make 26 lbs. of ice in an hour.First ice in about 8 minutes.Full basket of ice in about an hour.Pauses itself when ice basket is full and will resume ice production automatically as soon as some ice is removed.Light comes on when water needs to be added (keep in mind you still have a full basket of ice when this triggers).Melts very slowly and if you leave it on over night it only comes on once or twice to replace the ice that melted.Quite operation. It doesn’t take up a lot of countertop space so we are able to leave it out and it matches our stainless steel fridge. It comes with a nice ice scoop which is great for parties. This ice maker keeps dropping ice every 8 minutes. The cord is very long so it doesn’t have to be right up against the outlet.Cons:The only con I have about the machine is trying to drain the water remaining when you are done using it. There is a drain plug underneath it that is a little tricky to use because you can’t see underneath the machine and you can’t just turn the machine upside down to drain it per their instructions. That will harm the machine. What I found to be a great solution is instead of using the drain plug I use a microfiber towel to soak up all the water left in the machine. That only takes a quick second and you don’t have to move the ice maker over the sink to drain it. I then leave the lid open to make sure it dries out. So it really isn’t a con if you use the microfiber towel. It is so easy this way which means I never mind using the machine even to make a small amount of ice.

  4. I LOVE this ice maker. I live in a rental with just a basic fridge/freezer unit so no built in ice maker, and the small freezer is always packed with barely room to keep an ice bin, and def no room to freeze ice in trays. The way this works is that the ice bullets are formed on metal rods which are the only part of the unit that is chilled to freeze the water, therefore This ice maker does not have a freezer compartment that will keep the finished ice bullets frozen so you will heed to immediately transfer the ice to your freezer as soon as the collection bin is full. The first time I made enough ice to fill my ice bin in my freezer, I realized that the ice bullets tend to have a melted outer layer so that once in the ice bin, they will all freeze into a block of ice bullets that need to be broken apart. I solved this problem by putting the ice bullets into a ziplock bag which I keep in my freezer ice bin. This allows me to easily break up the ice bullets every time I need to retrieve ice from my stash, as well as keeps the ice fresh by not adsorbing odors and also keeps it from sublimating away while in frozen storage. A gallon sized bag was not big enough to maximize the available storage space in my ice bin so I got the 2.5 gal size and those generously line my bin and allow me to store my ice bin’s maximum capacity of ice. When I want ice I just pull the bag out of the bin, drop it onto the counter a few times to break them apart, just like you have to do with a purchased bag of ice. After getting the ice I need out, I just put the bag of ice back in the freezer ice bin, squish out the air and seal the bag & stick it back in the freezer. Easy and fast. The water reservoir of the ice maker holds 2 liters and it just so happens that that amount of water makes the exact amount of ice bullets to completely fill up my freezer ice bin to max capacity so I am very happy with it. A small freezer compartment to collect the ice in as it is made would have rated it 5 stars, but the simpler design without it still works well for my needs and is a much more affordable price than a unit with such a freezer collection space, so a solid 4 stars for a useful unit that will require some personal intervention to transfer the ice into freezer storage as it is made.I do wish that it had an audio alert for the full bin indicator in addition to the red indicator light, so that I could get the ice into the freezer immediately, but since the unit is small, portable and does not need to be hooked up to a water line, I just placed it where I can see it from my desk chair and set an alarm on my phone to start looking at the indicator lights after 50-55 minutes and that is working very well for me.

  5. The water filter is junk but that’s about it. It installs easy. There is nothing that difficult to do here, folks. I had a friend help me lift to top onto the bin and that’s about it. I can’t keep up with the ice. My only thought would be to go with 300lbs instead of 400lbs. Me are a 50 seat capacity bar. Plenty of ice.

  6. i purchased one of these models in 2019 for my beach house in Cortez Fl. Use 100 -120 lbs on each of our offshore fishing trips. Have had zero issues with it. Due to ridiculous cost of the “new” miniature 7 lb bags of ice at local stores in central Florida, I purchased another one of these machines for our shop in Lakeland Fl. Tied into our existing cold water line at sink and ran dedicated 20 amp receptacle to the panel. Installed myself in 3 hours (including plumbing/electrical). Dropped first batch of ice in about 14 min. went to shop this morning, it was 3/4 full. By noon it was maxed out! Ive seen all the negative reviews, but I now have 2 of them. One is 3 years old, one is 2 days old. They are both cranking out the ice! And im not paying $3.00 bucks for bags the size of a loaf of bread anymore!

  7. AS the headline says, im on the fence on this purchase. The plumbing supply lines it comes with were not great and leaking the due to the plastic to plastic connections. NOT the biggest deal i went and got better lines from the plumbing supply. a few weeks later i had the electrical components burn out with in the 30 day window which was shocking and disappointing. After some back and fourth with the manufacture they sent a new top (ice making part). I am happy they resolved the issue but having the issues with the plumbing pieces and then having the electrical issue with in 30 days has be skeptical. I do hope this works out with the new piece but I’m afraid if it happened with the first one its a matter of time before it happens with the second one.**UPDATE**STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. the second machine they sent me was clearly refurbished. It came and the touch screen didn’t work and you could adjust the size of the ice. After it produced 2-3 batches of ice it went into “harvesting mode” and didn’t do anything for 60 minutes. It kept going into that mode and does not work. They reimbursed me for the machine which is nice but after they told me it is most likely needs a new mother board they first said they would send me a part but then they said they wouldn’t. Then they said they would again, and after a week of nothing they asked for video’s of the inner workings and photos of parts i dont know about. I have had a plumber come twice, and electrician come twice and had to buy my own supply lines because the parts this comes with are rubbish, i was not about to have a professional come back out to help me with obtaining more photos and videos for a problem that was already trouble shooted. It turned out I’m happy i didn’t because it was all a ploy to just not send me the part. This machine is rubbish, the customer service is inconsistent at best and at worst the lied about sending the part multiple times and sent a refurbished replacement. At this point ive spent $800-1,200 on service tech calls and an entire summer NOT HAVING and ice machine. Stay away, STAY FAR AWAY.

  8. Set up is easy. Ice maker should be near a sink. I can not imagine having it without the extra tank. We fill the tank at least once a day for a family of 4. (Get the tank!) I had to try about 10 times to get WIFi App to sink up. We shut the ice maker off at 9pm and it still has ice in when we turn it at 6am. We have an open floor plan so it is a little louder than I had hoped but I feel like you just get used to it. A few days after use it said I need to descale it even though we have a water softener. GE said to unplug it let it rest. The Error went a way. I did purchase the extended warranty. Lots of good ytube videos on how to open it up and clean the inside. Will update this review in a few month. The ice is perfect and makes drink cold fast with little foam. Not hard to chew and is helping me get more daily water intake. The drip tray is my only complaint so far. When you open the ice drawer it drips so you need a paper towel.12/12/22- had to set it to cycle off every few hours otherwise it starts squealing. The internal defrost cycle does not seem to work that great. So I would not advise trying to run it for 16 hours straight.12/26/22- so still dealing with squealing. I have been playing around with the schedule to give it more chances to defrost. I think the squealing comes from it not being about to push the frozen ice out. Still love the ice so not giving up yet.12/28/22- did several cleaning cycles with bleach. Set up running time for hour on then and hour off. Moved it so it has good ventilation on both sides. No squealing so far after changes.1/14/23- to sync up to phone app pull up a chair and sit right next to it with your phone. Any further away does not seem to work. My machine has been working fine as long as it has several off cycles between run times. If I try to leave it on for more than a few hours it always start making unpleasant noises. It has lost WiFi twice and each when it keeps running without programming it starts making all kinds of bad noises. Just my personal experiences. Keep with a on/off hourly schedule.

  10. Some ice makers are extremely noisy in comparison, quiet and quick

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ! SEE ADDED PHOTOS!!! 📢🦠😷🤧⚠️UPDATED 02/2024 📢⚠️🦠🧼🪥🧊While visiting my grandparents, the ice maker needed water but I wasn’t sure how much was already in the machine. The ice maker is ontop of their 45″ coffee bar cabinet (I’m 5’1). I got a step stool and opened the cover to check the water level.I was stunned by what I saw! Before you go judge or assume that she is dirty etc, as stated in my orginal review below about cleaning the machine, that this can happen quickly. My 86 y/o grandmother is ODC clean & keeps an immaculate home! When I visit, I will clean the machine if I remember, otherwise she will do it.. The last time she thoroughly cleaned the machine was almost 3-weeks ago. Goes to show how quickly debris (and lawrd knows whatelse inside) can accumulate. My cleaning tips are at the bottom of my original review.I have added additional photos to show you how the machine can quickly collect dust, debris etc just from sitting with a closed lid.My grandmother has the ice maker on a raised stand on her countertop – when filling the machine with water, this went unseen. My grandmother was mortified when she saw this. She actually started to cry in fear her or my grandfather would get sick. She almost had me remove the ice maker. This is why I STRESSED about frequent cleanings in my original review.————–‐——————————-Original Unedited Review: I purchased this for my 85 year old grandparents. Their new refrigerator has a botton freezer (which they wanted) but limited freezer space so they took out the ice maker to make room. Every time we had family gatherings, there was no ice not even a tray. When I mentioned buying this to my grandmother – she didn’t want to hear it. She said there would be no room for it on her counters (she has plenty of room). I think they were more concerned they wouldn’t know how to operate it without help or how it would ‘look’ if company came lol. It blends in nicely with her other black & stainless appliances. If anything, her friends/company raves about the maker.I had the ice maker shipped to my grandparents house — and when they received it, they couldn’t get over how well packaged it was — it also has a blue film covering protecting the entire stainless machine. ❄️🧊❄️🧊❄️🧊❄️🧊 and couldn’t get over how compact the ice maker is, how quick it produces ice, and how easy it is to operate. They have actually used this several times when having outdoor gatherings. We plug it into the outside outlet or portable generator & wah lah! It was in the mid 90s with 100% humidity & the lid kept the ice intact – no issues with melting. The ice cubes are large nuggets which is nice.. Depending on your tap water minerals, I recommend using filtered water to reduce build-up.*The machine is very easy to clean AND SO IMPORTANT (PLEASE READ). When I visited, I noticed the machine had a ‘water smell’ and knew it just needed a cleaning.I do recommend cleaning & sanitizing the machine every 4-6 weeks and clean the basket frequently. If you don’t want to spend the money on ice machine cleaner – then white vinegar works just as good if not better. I put distilled vinegar in a spray bottle (1:1 ratio) and spray the inside really good. I would use a lint free microfiber cloth or an old t-shirt to wipe (DON’T USE HARSH CHEMICALS) – you can also mix water & Dawn together and use it as a spray. You’ll want to grab a toothbrush for hard to reach spots. Vinegar is a safe – natural disinfectant & descaler. Anything that gets left uncleaned has the chance to build up grime for another 2 months. DON’T SKIP THIS STEP – YOU WILL GET SICK!! 🪥🧽🧼*MAKE SURE you pour/fill the ice maker with the vinegar solution (vinegar/water), just like how you make ice! Making this ice fills the spaces most likely to have buildup, like the ice maker’s teeth, with your solution. Make sure you give the machine a good thorough rinse because you don’t want your ice to taste like vinegar. This may seem like a pain or a lot to do but it’s actually not. So quick but so IMPORTANT. You DON’T want to take chances on getting sick or someone else because ALL ice makers create mold, slime, e-coli, pests, dust, and dirt—debris of all kinds can affect the quality of your ice. Look out for green or black patches on your ice, because that’s a sure sign that it’s in need of a clean. But other dangers can be harder to spot.I hope you found my review helpful! I know it’s a little long but I rather share helpful information & not have someone get sick.GREAT QUALITY • AFFORDABLE • GIFTABLE • EASY TO USE • MAKES NUGGET ICE IN MINUTES • GREAT FOR PARTIES • INDOOR/OUTDOOR EVENTS • PORTABLE • CAMPING & MORE

  13. Useful ice maker that arrived when it said it would.

  14. This small yet powerful little ice maker is fast. Yes, you have to add water (it is portable and can sit on any countertop or tabletop). I use filtered water from my tap, I like the taste of that water and it is in the taste is in my ice cubes when I scoop them out. It does make some noise, there is a fan and a refrigerant compressor, but it is not so loud as to be annoying (for me). If you are looking for a reasonably small, not too heavy to carry ice maker you can set almost anywhere that there is a three-prong outlet (a three prong UL approved extension cord would also work if you needed it), then this is a good one I recommend. Here are a couple of things on the downside: The bin is not refrigerated, so the ice can melt over time at exposure to room temperature (mine turned into a blob that I could break up). Nice thing is, if the ice does melt, the water goes right down into the water storage area. Be careful if you move it (carry it), when the low water light comes on there is still water in the bottom of the unit. It comes with a drain on the underside of the unit if you want to let out all the water, just make sure you place the cap back on securely. The instructions are very straightforward and easy to read, setup is fast. I am surprised at how quickly you can get a reasonable amount of ice on the “Large” setting (give it about an hour). You will not be disappointed.

  15. As I write this review, the icemaker is humming along in the background, a little louder than I’d prefer, not at all whisper-quiet, but with a low-enough pitch that makes it fairly easy to ignore. The Frigidaire portable icemaker can easily share space with other appliances on the counter. It’s a no-brainer to use, no learning curve involved. Each tray of ice is much smaller than a regular ice cube tray, and individual ice cubes are about a third to half the size of a regular ice cube. The icemaker gamely keeps making ice cubes until it deems the basket full, then shuts off until the ice melts or is deposited in the freezer or in our drinks. Then it begins again. The only glitch is the consistency of the bullet-type ice cubes. They come out wet, on the verge of melting, and they freeze together when placed with other ice cubes in the freezer, requiring the help of a knife or ice pick to chip them free.I’m hoping a future iteration of this icemaker will freeze cubes at a lower temperature. Still, for the price, convenience, and ease of use, I recommend this icemaker.

  16. The media could not be loaded.  ==========Final update: 7/25/2023: OnPoint responded to the BBB complaint. I was offered to continue waiting an undetermined amount of time for a 3rd new unit, I opted to get completely out of this mess. The 2nd unit is being shipped back right now and upon receipt, GE is providing a full refund. Meanwhile I already have an Opal 1 in its place and quite happy, and it was about 1/2 the price. So what would you gain by going the Opal 2 route (other than a giant headache)? A front panel that lights up letting you know, by words, what is going on with the ice maker. The Opal 1 has an LED ring that pulses or changes color and you kinda have to decipher it but it isn’t any big deal. The 2 also has the app and you can schedule the ice maker to turn on and off at certain times or even tap a button on your phone to turn it on or off. I kinda liked that so what I’ve already done is programmed a smart plug to work on a schedule and it can be controlled via app as well so nothing lost there.’Sonic’ ice is absolutely spectacular. There are now lots of these ice makers on the market. My biggest advice is to make sure to get one that includes a side tank or is directly plumbed to your R/O system otherwise you’ll forever be jumping up and refilling small amounts of water.===========Another update: 7/17/2023: I submitted a complaint with the BBB over the weekend regarding OnPoint Warranty Solutions LLC which is the official support group for GE Opal. I also offered to provide 33 emails I’ve had with support (sent/received). I have still not had any communication returned from support. Buyer beware if you need any product support, which you most likely will. Working on figuring out a contact directly with GE to discuss the product and experience with support. I had actually requested this information from Onpoint but have not had a response.===========Update 7/13/2023: nothing to report. GE Opal “advanced” support has gone completely dark. No tracking info on a replacement unit (which by the way would be Unit #3 since March). I’ve requested tracking info multiple times on the 3rd unit and they are non-responsive. I think these Opal units are like playing craps, sometimes you run hot and have a great time, but most of the time you end up heading back to your hotel room early with nothing in your pocket because the casino drained you.Not sure what else to say. Tomorrow I will be contacting the BBB. Shoddy engineering on product, worse on support. To recent purchasers, enjoy the ice, it is indeed fantastic. Just be ready to have your experience take a 180 on you. Then I wish you the best of luck with your giant paperweight.I’m still holding onto hope that I’ll be able to provide a much better update on this.==========Review written by my husband.DO NOT BUY. Absolutely terrible product and terrible support. Yes when it works the ice is spectacular, but go buy the Opal 1 version. I know multiple people who have the Opal 1, never use distilled water and never descale and never have problems. The GE developers got this product wrong.Purchased March 11, 2023. Plain and simple, this product has issues and support is terrible. Within a couple of weeks of purchasing we noticed some strange noises coming from the unit. Not much longer the noise became overwhelming and we simply had to just turn the unit completely off (see video that support requested from me). Too late to return so we worked with Opal support. The experience overall has been terrible. The number one thing that support says is to always use distilled water. Yet nowhere on the product does it state this and I don’t know anyone who would buy an expensive ice maker to also have to always purchase special water to use in it. We have an R/O system in place and always use that. The other thing that support will say is that every two weeks you have to descale the unit. This means removing all ice and draining all water, adding in a mixture of water and vinegar and running that through the cleaning cycle several times, then flush that all out, wiping everything down good, make several batches of ice and throw that away to make sure you are not mixing all that vinegar in with your icewater or drink. The descaling process basically take overnight as you have to stuff a rag or sponge up into the unit and let it sit during this downtime process. We also purchased the official GE Opal filter. This makes no difference in operation of this unit and is a waste of money. After working with support for weeks and weeks, they finally said they would send a replacement unit. Their standard process for replacement is to send a refurbished unit. So now you pay lots of money for a product that doesn’t work right only to get a unit that someone else had a problem with and was returned? Upon receipt of this ‘new’ replacement unit, the instructions state that there could be some leftover crud from their cleaning process. Yeah, okay, see the next picture. I spent two hours trying to clean that crap out of the unit, flushed several cycles through, tossed ice, that stuff is still everywhere. I decided to keep trying to clean it anyway. BUT, when I then proceeded to connect the unit to my home network, the password printed on the label on the back of the unit didn’t work. I struggled for some time before reaching out to support and providing that information plus the picture of the disgusting unit. The manager seemed a bit shocked and personally called me, the unit should never have been shipped that way and it was obvious and acknowledged that they completely messed up repairing someone else’s returned unit that had wifi problems and wasn’t cleaned right and then sent to me. The outcome of this: I was told I would be receiving a brand new replacement unit. Flash forward 2 1/2 weeks later, I still have not received any shipping/tracking information and unit #2 that I have at the house now sits dark on the counter. When I asked repeatedly for tracking information I was asked to have patience as the supply chain was having issues. At this point I specifically requested a full refund as it has been several months with nothing but a crappy experience and very little ice to enjoy along the way. We’ll see how this all pans out but my advice based on my personal experience with this product and their support is to avoid it completely. I was going to suggest to purchase the extra coverage but I can’t in good conscience advise anyone to pay for this product period. Go out and google opal ice maker noise, or why does my opal ice maker scream like a banshee, something along those lines. You’ll see lots of people sharing. For many this occurs after the warranty period (you know, that time where they’ll gladly send you a used replacement) and they tear the thing apart and try to experiment with different ideas to solve the problem. One post I read even said the buyer eventually just tossed it in his garage because it is unusable.I’ll update this review once I hear something back from support. But this purchase has been nothing but pure frustration and a huge time waster. The simple fact that they say you have to use distilled water and a full descaling/cleaning with downtime every two weeks should create a class action suit as nowhere does the product state this when considering a purchase. I’m mad as hell about this purchase but it sure looks like GE doesn’t care, or stand by it’s products.

  17. I did a lot of research on machines for the house. I looked at multiple units, some that required a drain. I had a smaller Frigidaire but it required constantly filling the water during the day and although it claimed to make 26 lbs during the day, it was a slow and tedious process in getting to the 26 lbs. The ice also melted extremely fast even in a Yeti cup. I am extremely happy with this GE Profile and even though the ice is smaller (and in larger amounts), it lasts longer compared to the larger cubes from the Frigidaire in my Yeti. Some things to note, it does have some noise to it. But not enough to bother me and it was relatively the same as the Frigidaire unit. I did read the comments and someone mentioned scheduling it to turn on and off in the middle of the night to keep continuous ice making. I guess if it stops, it melts quit a bit. Stopping and restarting helps. I love the fact I can leave this on continuously. I do like the App feature, but rarely use it honestly but it’s a nice to have for sure. And finally, I don’t have arguments with the family of 5 on why we don’t always have ice. The side XL unit is an absolute MUST. Although we got the side unit, we STILL go through a lot of jugs of water. In the heat of Texas, of course we should be using it quite a bit. And USE DISTILLED WATER. Do your research on WHY to use Distilled. Makes a difference. Flavor, of course will be different than drinking water but we use filtered water from our refrigerator along with our Distilled Ice and scaling will be reduced significantly if at all. The beauty of this unit is that I don’t have to clean as much using distilled water, I don’t have to drain often, and I can leave it on constantly. Couldn’t be happier at the moment with this purchase

  18. I have a condition where I have to increase water intake, and I prefer my water with ice, so I thought this would help. This icemaker has worked great so far, the design is pretty robust and it makes enough ice to keep up with my 5 person office (I’m nice and sharing). This is a continuous circulation design, so as ice is made, it’s dumped into a tray, which melts into a water holding tank, which is then recirculated in the freezing chamber on top.The freezing device consists of several rods with stubby extensions which rotate into a shallow pan of water which is filled via pump from the reservoir beneath the ice basket. The stubs of the rods submerge and as they cool, ice forms around them, making cup shaped cubes. There are options for small or large. My one worry was that the ice would not be very cold and would melt and break quickly, but the larger size cube is quite robust and solid. With the lid down the cubes last fairly long, enough so I’m not bothering to transfer them to the freezer to save them. If I kept the icemaker in a hot room or garage this might not be as practical, but it works very efficiently in an air conditioned office. As the small plastic basket fills, there’s some sort of sensor that automatically shuts off the machine from creating another load, so it can be left relatively unattended. I haven’t paid much attention to the scooping design which collects the cubes and dumps them into the basket, but there haven’t been any problems with it so far.I use water from a filtered fountain and the cubes taste fine, perhaps even better than the water straight out of the filter. I have not tested with unfiltered water, but the water is so gross in my neck of the woods I would be afraid to damage it.I work around a lot of humming machines, so the noise is easy for me to tune out. It can be a little noisy when cycling, so if you’re sensitive to that sort of thing you might want to put it in a different room. I honestly don’t care either way, because the ice is convenient and delicious!Very glad I purchased it, and wavering on getting a second one for at home.

  19. I really like the way this machine makes ice.The first 3 makings is usually thinner and smaller cubes and than it gets nice and thick. You do have to collect the ice from the tray and put it in the freezer so it doesn’t get soft. As it does melt fast if you leave it in the tray. Overall very easy to handle and great machine. Only thing I wish is that it was a little bit smaller.

  20. Great little machine. Not too bulky, looks nice, makes ice quickly. Simple to use and to clean

  21. I’ll admit that I went into this pretty skeptical of the ice maker, both because of the low price and the lesser-known manufacturer. A family member had a similar countertop ice maker and spoke very highly of it, and I got tired of being the only person in my office to keep refilling the ice trays in the freezer, so I invested in one to automate the process.Initially, I was very let down. It only made 4-5 pieces of ice at a time, and they were misshapen and thin. Over a month or so, it started producing even less ice, until it eventually stopped altogether. I’m assuming a refrigerant leak, but before it completely conked out, I reached out to the manufacturer for assistance. After a quick back and forth they sent me a brand new one. I’ve had it for a month or so, and I’m so impressed by this one that I felt I owed them a review. Now that I have one that functions properly, WOW. 12 ice cube trays being rotated on a daily basis weren’t enough to keep up with my coworkers, but this thing spits out ice so fast we’ll fill our entire bin in a few hours, even with people actively using it. It’s only on for three days a week; if we left it on in perpetuity, we’d be able to swim in all the ice it produces, Scrooge McDuck-style.I don’t review products all that often, but both their response to my support request with the first one and the resulting product were fantastic, and I can’t recommend this one enough.

  22. Well made very fast ice maker

  23. I absolutely love this ice machine. I live in the desert and it runs pretty much all the time. I’ve had others, but this is by far the best. However… I am now ordering my third one. The water gauges must be faulty, because after about 8-10 months it won’t register that there is water in the machine, and when it doesn’t detect water, it doesn’t run. So I’ve learned my lesson. They now cost less with a two year warranty than they did when I first purchased one. Still worth it in my book.

  24. The ice maker in my new Kitchen Aid refrigerator/freezer frequently stops producing ice.A service technician is coming out yet again tomorrow. This happens frequently enough thatI got sick and tired of running out to buy ice, so I decided to purchase a countertop ice maker. After searching product reviews on various web sites I decided that this Silonn Ice Maker would probablyfit my needs……..AND IT DOES!! I was pleasantly surprised at how fast it produced decent sized bullet ice.The ice needs to be removed quickly and transferred to a freezer but I accumulated a good supply in a reasonable amount of time. No need to go out to purchase ice.

  25. I bought this particular brand based on reputation of brand. It’s not bad noisey but noisier than I thought it would be. The ice gets stuck at the top after it makes and you have to move it down so that it will make more, otherwise it thinks it’s full. That’s aggravating. This product is very simple to set up to use. In fact, I didn’t even open the manual. It was that easy. The ice is soft and good, but does melt fast in a drink Overall I recommend this product.

  26. Prices are very reasonable. Perfect for small-size restaurants.

  27. They sold me a non working machine with an unrepairable ice flip error. Then they stalled time to avoid replacing the machine and instead assured me they would send me the part I needed to replace. Waited over a month for part to arrive, and when it did it STILL DIDN’T work!! Now due to the time transpired I’m ineligible for a Replacement or a Refund. Amazon can’t do anything since I’m past the deadline to file a claim. So unfortunately I’m out of over 2k dollars that I paid for this NON Working Ice Machine! Amazon should remove these Thieves to avoid them stealing hard earned money from other people.

  28. We have used this for parties as well as for everyday use. Makes the ice quite nicely. It is a bit noisy on the drop but that can’t be helped. Make sure you pay attention to it as the ice tends to build up and block the “full of ice” eye before the tray is filled. Also, be aware the the ice isn’t kept cold. There’s no cooling module that chills the ice. It melts back into the reservoir to be re-used. It’s a good ice maker and I’d recommend getting this one. Takes about 7-8 minutes to make a batch of 9 large cubes

  29. I am so glad I purchased this nugget ice maker, it is a quality appliance. I love the Sonic style ice and my machine allows me to enjoy this at home. It is so easy to set up and makes ice really fast. I have had no issues with my maker. It is quiet and efficient.

  30. Makes ice quicker than I thought it’s small easy to use and place in the kitchen does not take much space and will be very useful for hot summer days!!

  31. This is a great quality icemaker. Takes up minimal space. Works fast. Is consistent in size, quality, and output of its cubes. You won’t go wrong by purchasing this icemaker. I use it EVERY day.

  32. It makes a small footprint but cranks out a lot of ice in a short period of time. Rather than spend $300 on another actuator assembly for my Samsung refrigerator (the replacement lasted only 1 1/2 years), this is a much less expensive and more reliable fix. I am very happy with it.

Wow! My husband is a little bit particular about making ice. This thing has saved him so much time! It’s super easy to use and convenient. It does have to be stored in a particular temperature so we cannot keep it in the garage. However, it doesn’t take up a ton of counter space, it’s about the size of an air fryer. The ice comes out slightly watery but he puts it into a bag and into the freezer. After a while he drops the bag a few times and dumps it into the bucket so they don’t stick together. It’s super super convenient!

We purchased this in March to take to friends living on a sailboat. We tested it at home first and it worked great. There were 8 adults on tbe boat for 7 days. We used the ice from this little producer for all of our drinks. We even had extra ice which we froze in the freezer. Update 3 weeks later and the icemaker is still going strong. I knew nothing about this brand when ordered but based on the reveiws I took a chance. It’s compact and easty to set up and start. We had it on a counter next to other appliances and never had any issues. One comment which might be of interest to some is that the ice is a slightly “wet” ice. When put in a freezer the cubes do freeze together but break appart easily enough. This was not a negative for us. Two other couples have since purchased this same icemaker after experiencing it on the sailboat.

  35. Bought this based on reviews I read. This is a great ice maker! Got it for my husband as a Christmas gift. He just absolutely loves it! Would of bought one sooner if I realized how happy it would make him. It makes ice fast, it’s easy to use and not loud. He usually makes enough ice to fill a one gallon bag at a time and keeps in the freezer. Would definitely recommend. Hope it brings you as much happiness as my husband! 🙂
