  1. I purchased four types of beeswax crayons for my kids. I have all the crayons out of their respective packages and in the same “crayon bucket” so my kids can choose freely among them. They have a clear favorite and I have a different favorite.Their least favorite are the Filana Crayons.  Filana Organic Beeswax Stick Crayons, Set of 12 in a Carton  They consciously avoid these crayons and my 2 year-old throws fits if he has to use one of these because someone else has the color he wants (from the other brands). They also get annoyed with these because the round shape allows them to easily roll away, or off the table. The pigment saturation on these is “translucent” in comparison to the others and they are harder/not as soft. I was attracted to these crayons because of the Organic claims, however after receiving them, examining the packaging and checking their website, this appears to be a deceptively false claim. In the USA, a company cannot legally use the word “Organic” on its packaging unless it is Certified Organic by the FDA or other licensed FDA Certifier and contains at least 90% minimum Certified Organic content. (We belong to the Organic Consumer Association and we are a passionately organic family. We are not experts, but we are reasonably informed about organic things.) Firstly, there is no Certified Organic Seal displayed on this packaging so it appears to be yet another fake “organic” product from an unknown company capitalizing on Amazon’s weak seller filters. I checked their website which claims the crayons are a “blend of natural petroleum-free waxes” and contain “20% certified organic beeswax” and another page on their site claims “25% organic beeswax”. Nowhere (at the time of this review) is a full disclosure of ingredients (or any mention of other ingredients for that matter). First of all, if it is only 20% beeswax, it is NOT A “BEESWAX” CRAYON. Second of all, if this measly 20% is the only organic thing in it (which I doubt even this is true), then IT IS NOT ORGANIC. Since they don’t mention what the other “natural petroleum-free waxes” actually are, my guess is they are mostly soy or palm wax, which in the case of soy, (if it is not certified organic) is entirely GMO and loaded with PESTICIDE and HERBICIDE TOXINS. There is a “Notice, this product contains soy.” warning on the Filana package. In sum, my kids don’t like these crayons and the company is making bogus claims and illegally exploiting the Organic label. On to the next…My kids like these Faber Castell Beeswax crayons.  Faber Castell FC129124 Jumbo Triangular Beeswax Crayon, Assorted Color, 1.75″ Height, 4.38″ Width, 9.75″ Length (Pack of 24)  There are no claims on the packaging or website about the beeswax ratios or types of waxes or other ingredients, but these crayons are smooth and rich in color and my kids like the triangular shape that doesn’t roll away. This is an established art supplies brand that has been around for generations. If I am able to track down the full ingredient list, I will post it.Lastly, their favorites are these International Arrivals Natural Beeswax Crayons  International Arrivals Natural Beeswax Crayons, Set of 24 (133-50)  They are also triangular in shape, but the clincher is the richest, smoothest color. My kids love them. I am not familiar with this brand, but a quick look at their website provides honest full disclosure of the ingredients of these crayons. While I very much appreciate the disclosure, I am not too thrilled about the ingredients… “Crayon Wax Contains: Paraffin and Hydrocarbon waxes, stearic acid (pure), Talc (Mg3H2(SiO3)4), Hydrogenated Palm Oil, benzenamine (oxidized), Petrolatum, beeswax, Distillates (petroleum), hydrotreated light paraffinic, synthetic coloring.” The first listed ingredients are “Parrafin and Hydrocarbon waxes”. These crayons are mostly petroleum. Though there is a reference to a bee on the package, they are not called “beeswax crayons”, nor are there any deceptive claims to “natural or organic”. This company has more integrity than the first two.My favorites are the Honey Sticks Beeswax Crayons  Honeysticks 100% Pure Beeswax Crayons (12 Pack) Natural, Non Toxic, Safe for Babies, Toddlers and Kids, Handmade in New Zealand, For 1 Year Plus  These are my favorites because they are 100% beeswax and some pigments. They smell sweet just like our beeswax candles. They are slightly sticky like real beeswax and thus, they are the most natural and least toxic of the lot. They are not as smooth, nor as rich as the others, but my priority is safe and non-toxic art fun so these are the clear winners to me. As far as my kids go, they like the chunky shape that is different from the others, but these leave small wax crumbs on the paper and the color isn’t as rich or as smooth as the others. In summary, it doesn’t look like much actual beeswax is in any of the first three, however, none of them have the heavy noxious petroleum smell of typical crayons so there is improvement in that regard. I am aware that art supplies (pigments and their various mediums) are notoriously toxic so this is an area where I am especially careful with my kids. I am glad I found the Honey Sticks. If I took away all the other crayons, my kids would be happy with the honeysticks. They aren’t “artist quality”, but they are lovely 100% beeswax crayons with no fake claims. Just what I was looking for! Thanks for reading, I hope this review is helpful!

  2. I got these on a lightning deal to try with my nephew with autism. He is very sensitive to smells. I also wanted to show them to the Waldorf School where I teach a knitting class.First off, each crayon smells and feels like a real thing, not chemical ooze. The colors in the box are varied with deep hues. They color just fine, shade well. You won’t get too fine a line but they are after all crayons. My nephew took to them immediately and colored for hours. It might be in my head but the presence of a natural product like this seems to have a soothing effect.I took them to the Waldorf School and they had not seen these before. They fit perfectly with the Waldorf philosophy and were a huge hit. I don’t think this particular school had ever seen these before. The only down side is that they are not acceptable to vegans. However for me they are light years more ecofriendly than a boiled up chemical ooze. Very long lasting…a dozen kids swapping them back and forth for a couple hours barely made a dent. Just a delight to the senses as well as a practical toy for children. Love them!

The Thins and the Original chubby ones  Honeysticks 100% Pure Beeswax Crayons (12 Pack) Natural, Non Toxic, Safe for Babies, Toddlers and Kids, Handmade in New Zealand, For 1 Year Plus  These are my favorites because they are 100% beeswax and some pigments. They smell sweet just like our beeswax candles. They are slightly sticky like real beeswax and thus, they are the most natural and least toxic of the lot. They are not as smooth, nor as rich as the others, but my priority is safe and non-toxic art fun so these are the clear winners to me. As far as my kids go, they like the chunky shape of the originals for coloring big areas and the thin shape of the “thins” for detail work. The only drawbacks are that thye leave small wax crumbs on the paper and the color isn’t as rich or as smooth as the others. In summary, it doesn’t look like much actual beeswax is in any of the first three, however, none of them have the heavy noxious petroleum smell of typical crayons so there is improvement in that regard. 4. These crayons are great, the colors are nice and made from natural sources. They color well compared to other beeswax crayons we’ve tried, they can crumble a little bit while coloring leaving small bits of crayon on the page but not enough for it to interfere with the kids coloring. They obviously aren’t going to color as well as crayola crayons but my kids didn’t seem to notice the difference. They work well and are a great safer alternative. The only think I wish is of they had wrappings on the crayons because they can feel a tiny bit sticky which occasionally bothers my sensory sensitive child.

  5. Love that these are non toxic and chunky/ easy to hold but they break so easy for how expensive these are (granted my toddler is not gentle and throws them)

  6. Honeysticks 100% Pure Beeswax Crayons have become an absolute favorite in our household! My son adores the vibrant 16 colors, and as a parent, I appreciate the non-toxic, food-grade quality. Knowing they’re sustainably made in New Zealand adds an extra layer of reassurance. The jumbo size is perfect for little hands, making it easy for my son to explore his creativity safely. These crayons have truly earned my trust, and I feel confident letting my child dive into the world of art with Honeysticks!

  7. My toddler enjoys drawing with these and just carrying them around. The beeswax smell is pleasant. And it’s nice not to worry about what they’re made of during the couple seconds when she puts them in her mouth before I can get to her and redirect her to use them somewhere else. We’ve been using them for at least 6 months and some of them have small chips but they are all still in one piece.

  8. As a parent, I’m always on the lookout for safe and fun toys for my little ones. I recently discovered Honeysticks 100% Pure Beeswax Crayons, and they’ve quickly become a favorite in our household.I love that these crayons are made from 100% pure beeswax, which means they’re non-toxic and safe for even the youngest children to use. The crayons are also very soft and easy to grip, making them ideal for toddlers and preschoolers.

  9. I was looking for a good alternative to the normal bath crayons. Something a little “better” for my kids since they’ll literally be sitting in the water soaking up the crayons they use. And let’s be honest, drinking the water too. So I turned to these. They come in super cute packaging that doubles as a toy itself. It’s got holes In the bottom so you can fill the cup up and make it rain. Very thoughtful and reusable friendly. Then we have the crayons. First you have to actually remember to take the labels off of each crayon. No big deal, I just didn’t think about it. Secondly the more and more wet the crayons get the more they turn to mush. My kid in 1 bath time no longer had crayons he had finger paints. THICK, colorful finger paints. That took 2 hours to scrub off the walls, the floors and his toys. I’m not exaggerating. In fact I’m under stating how long it took considering my husband was in there the night before trying to scrub it off while he was actively showering. It took me 2 sponges and a whole roll of paper towels to get this off. The magic trick was eventually blue dawn dish soap. Nothing else worked. All in all. Crayons were not durable, they only lasted ONE bath session. And they need to be sold with either cleaner or a whole new tub. I’m still traumatized from the chaos they created. You’ve been warned.

  10. As a parent, I recently tried out the Honeysticks Bath Crayons for Toddlers and Kids, and I must say, they definitely brought joy to my little one’s bath time routine. However, I couldn’t help but have mixed feelings about these crayons.Let’s start with the positive. My 2-year-old son absolutely loved them! The vibrant colors and smooth texture of the crayons made bath time even more fun and interactive for him. It was a great way to spark his creativity and imagination while getting clean. However, as a downside, I found that these crayons were quite messy and hard to clean off the shower walls. They did leave a residue behind, which required some extra scrubbing and elbow grease to fully remove. It became a bit of a hassle, especially when trying to clean up after an already tiring day.Despite the mess, the Honeysticks Bath Crayons provided a unique sensory experience for my child, encouraging artistic expression during bath time. If your child enjoys getting creative and you don’t mind a little extra cleanup, these crayons might be a hit in your household.Overall, while I wasn’t their biggest fan due to the messiness factor, I can confidently say that Honeysticks Bath Crayons brought immense joy to my son. Just be prepared for some extra cleaning afterward!

  11. They seem very strong, especially when being tackled by little kids! The smell is nice. The colors seem good. They aren’t super bright colors, but they work for the basics of drawing. Seem to be more durable than more well-known crayon companies.

  12. We received our first tin as a gift for Christmas and ordered more for when they run out. They are fantastic for encouraging our toddler who is currently in the fight/delay bath and bedtime stage to get in the tub and choose his colors. They have not stained anything they have gotten on thus far (walls, tub, towels, clothing) but if your toddler likes to hold them and draw with them as they dissolve it may turn their fingers colors for a day or so. Otherwise they wash very easily. They are also a great way to teach colors and how primary colors make secondary colors. We will be keeping these in the bath time rotation for a long time to come!

  13. We have been working on teaching our 14 month old how to scribble and use markers (to a 14 month olds ability of course) and these are so nice to start with her! They are nice and big so she can handle them easily, they’re non toxic, so whenever she tries to teeth on them I’m not as concerned, and they color really well just like a regular old crayola, if not better!

  14. These turn the water into such vibrant colors, and it’s so fun to mix the primary colors to make secondary ones! My daughter went from having to be coaxed to take a bath to wanting to take 3 a day! So thank you for this fun and safe product!

  15. Are they more expensive than crayons? Yes. Does your kid need 2983726 colours? Absolutely not. These are big and easy for toddlers to hold, they draw beautifully, they smell divine, and anytime I catch my little one with one in his mouth I am confident he isn’t ingesting anything he shouldn’t be. Great product! I buy them for every toddler I know

  16. Perfect revenge gift if you hate someone with kids. You will be hard-pressed to find any toy in the universe that occupies kids for so few minutes and takes so many hours to clean. They’ll have to scrub hunched over a tub for many torturous moments while looking at ugly nonsensical art that smells like old dirty crayons while their little maniacs run screaming around the house getting soapy water everywhere. The crayons also break into the perfect size to clog a drain after just a few uses. You’re welcome.

  17. I read the reviews of people saying they were NOT that hard to clean off, that people just need to clean them immediately & it’s no big deal. I did not believe my husband (who handles bathtime) at how difficult they were to clean off. I finally handled a bathtime where I attempted to clean them up immediately – they would NOT easily come off, even while still wet from being played with. I tried multiple cleaning products & approaches. It took a “magic eraser” to finally get the fresh mess up (along with the weeks’ worth of buildup from Dad Bath Time). My grout might never be the same. They are hidden away while I ponder what to do with them. Maybe it has to do with what your bathtub surface is made of? I’m not sure… but purchase at your own risk.

  18. Just the right size and great colours. I purchased these and the dark primary colours set.

  19. Just what I needed for my baby girl

  20. Good product.

  21. I bought these for my one year old to start coloring. She doesn’t have much of an interest yet. The only crayon I took out of the box and gave to her, she threw on the ground and it broke the tip off. It was a big enough piece that she could definitely choke on, So these are now put away until she’s a bit older. So, they are pretty fragile

  22. Durable, colors are nice, and most importantly they are non toxic because everything goes in my grand babies mouth!!

  23. Our daughter loves this worth the money

  24. Great, safe, 1st crayons for toddlers. They’re well made with good pigments and I feel better about the “No mouth!” repetition knowing that they’re made with natural ingredients.

  25. Aunque son caros estos colores, son los mejores. No son tóxicos, huelen genial y pintan bien. Recomiendo.

  26. My 4 yo daughter loves these. She wants them in every bath now. It only takes 1 or 2 to color her whole bath. Any color that gets on her fingers from holding the tablet washes off before the end of the bath. Does not stain my tub or her hair. I will definitely be getting more.

  27. My son’s first set of crayons, he can hold them well, they’re durable, and I don’t get to stressed when he takes a little nibble. Lol

  28. non costa poco ma sono ottimi per un bimbo

  29. These crayons will last and the quality is excellent. The colors are not vivid, so that is not as appealing as some other options.

  30. It’s reassuring to know that these are all natural and safe. Lovely chunky crayons that draw well and smell good.

  31. My kid loves these. It makes bath time fun and less of a chore. Yes, he has held these in his hands for too long and gotten a little stained. However, if we soak his hands a little longer it eventually comes off. His skin is sensitive and eczema prone but we have not had any adverse reactions.

  32. I love that these are safe and non toxic. They produce great colors in the bath. My only thing is I wish there were more color options

  33. My kids are always so busy in the bath. I got them these crayons and they love them. Just wet the crayon and start drawing. They’ve been in the tub, shower, sink. They don’t crumble or get demolished. They are so sturdy. You do have to use some elbow grease to clean the mess off the walls/tub but it’s worth it to me. They love it!

  34. The best part about these is you don’t have to fear if your kid tries to eat them. As she learns to draw she picked these up naturally because of the size and shape. She can hold them well and also loves to take them in and out of the box. They color nicely for a beginner.

  35. I feel so safe letting my little one use these, even if she puts it in her mouth quickly. They smell great (which maybe makes them seem more appetizing, lol) and work great! We’ve enjoyed lots of coloring time together!

  36. The kids loved them. Lots of fun and wipes clean with a sponge.

  37. These were a big hit with my 1 year old. His “woah” face while watching the water change makes It allWorth It: I was nervous about his skin cause he has sensitive skin but It didn’t bother It at all

  38. Other bath crayons can melt or smoosh in a few uses, but these hold up better than any others I’ve found, and are non-toxic. The tin they come in even has drainage holes punched into the bottom so the crayons can dry in between uses. However, these are a nightmare to clean off the surface of the tub. A sponge alone won’t do it—not even the sponges with the scrubby side. Not even if you wipe it off 5 minutes after your child has used them. You need Comet or Barkeepers Friend to properly clean it off.PROS: long lasting, nontoxic, good packaging, doesn’t dye your kiddos handsCONS: tough to clean off surfaces

  39. The colors are great and I don’t have to worry if my toddler tries to eat them.

  40. These are fantastic. They don’t fall apart in the water, they write when wet and keeps my kids busy in the tub and shower. We can even write “love notes” to each other during the week. They are a little more difficult to clean off your tub walls, but it’s work the extra elbow grease!

  41. These are great, non-toxic crayons for a young child. Easy to hold, and they don’t easily break.

  42. Bought the Honey Sticks to replace the Crayola Bath Crayons my daughter was gifted. Just looking at the size comparison I’m impressed, they might cost three times as much as the Crayola brand but it’s obvious these will last much much longer.

  43. Easy for a child to use. Colors are good. I recommend this product.

  44. I got these for my 14m old. They are easy enough for her to hold, she just hasn’t caught on quite yet. They seem to color well without putting too much pressure on them. Overall this is a great basic first set and I’ll probably buy more colors once she gets into using them. Love that I don’t have to freak out if my teething little one tries to stick in her mouth.

  45. I’ve probably tried all the cheaper options and always come back to these. Good colour I used 1 full blue and the water looked like ‘smurf’. Nice colours and mix well my son won’t bathe without them and it’s the only brand that get a decent purple

  46. Molan mucho para los niños en la bañera se lo pasan genial y si son dados a chupar pues menos peligro tienen con estos

  47. I bought these for a 15 month old toddler just learning to scribble. He still tends to want to put everything in his mouth. Regular crayons are not going to hold up to his kind of oral scrutiny. With these being thicker and chunky, I thought they would be more difficult for him to take a bite out of or break. It was also attractive that they’re advertised as natural food safe materials, in case he does. Out of the box, they do seem like they will be extra sturdy and stand up to snapping, but my son already managed to bite the tip off of one crayon. Another downside is my dog thinks they’re treats and will try to eat them if my toddler leaves them on the floor. As you can see from my photo, there is the size comparison between Crayola Jumbo Crayons, Cra-Z-Art Jumbo Crayons, and Honeysticks beeswax crayons. Despite all of the product photos, clearly showing the size of the crayons in infant and toddler hands, I don’t know why I still expected these to be bigger. When I took the box out of the package, I was disappointed and underwhelmed that this tiny box cost me $22. I just thought they’d be a little larger. Not a lot, just a little bit.As far as coloring with these goes, they are nothing special. They’re waxier than the average Crayola crayon, duh. They have a grayish waxy sheen/coating all over them, unlike the crayons in the product photos. You kind of have to get them started, eroding that coating off the tip before you get much color. Still, you have to press fairly hard with these to get good, vivid color from them, otherwise it’s so faint. Out of the three brands we’ve tried, I think Crayola Jumbo Crayons take the cake. And I definitely feel like I paid too much for these Honeysticks.

  48. Who doesn’t like colored bathwater? Our toddler is always excited to throw in a pellet and watch the colour spread. As it is water soluble it is very easy to clean and doesn’t stain – though an occasional foot print is dragged outside the bath if the kiddo gets in too quick.

  49. Perfect for kids learning

  50. These bring bath time with my kids a new level of fun. Also love that they are a healthier option than someother similar products.
