  1. Although the 14″ IdeaPad 3 was a budget computer, it is one of the best laptop computers ever owned.- fast computer supported by an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U Processor, 256GB M.2 SSD and AMD Radeon Graphics- 14″ screen with 1920×1080 FHD is ideal for a frequent traveler like me- Light weight (~3.7lb computer itself sans charger)- Reasonable priced computer compared to other brand name with similar specs

  2. The Lenovo Ideapad 3 14 laptop is a very solid laptop and a must-buy for just $450.To start off with the pros,This laptop is very light, portable, fast, and powerful. I’m a college student going into I.T. and I edit videos a lot. The RAM, GPU, and CPU can easily handle that type of workload for 1080p video. The Ryzen 5 3500U with Radeon Vega 8 Graphics is more than capable of handling light gaming, 1080p editing, Unity/Unreal/Blender rendering, and absolutely blazes through everyday tasks. The keyboard has a phenomenal feel to it. While it’s definitely no Thinkpad keyboard, it feels much better than most laptop keyboards out there. The membranes give a nice, tactile, solid feel to each large key, providing a comfortable, solid, satisfying typing experience. The 256GB NVMe SSD gives the laptop a very snappy speed, with a near-instant boot time. While the storage capacity is definitely not vast, it makes up for it in speed. The Ideapad 3 also includes 2 USB 3.0 ports, so an external SSD/HDD is definitely a viable option if you want more storage on the laptop. (it’s what I did.)The 1080p display is crisp, sharp , and beautiful (if you spend some time color adjusting the screen in the Radeon settings.) It’s definitely more than viable for watching movies, streaming TV shows, or editing videos in 1080p.Now for the cons,The Ideapad 3’s battery is definitely not a poor one, but it’s far from great. On max performance mode, I rarely get more than 2 hours of battery life out of this computer on full brightness. However, running this on the “better battery” mode barely sacrifices any performance for me, and I’ve been able to get a significant 4-6 hours of battery life when running that mode. The trackpad is a very smooth experience, yet moving your finger around on it produces a weird knocking sound occasionally, but I’ve found this to quiet down as the laptop is used more often. Minor gripe.I know a lot of people have complained about the screen on this computer, but honestly, it’s far from a bad display. Sure, it only goes up to 220 nits (from my testing) so it can’t realistically be used outside on a sunny day, but for indoor use, even in a bright room, the display is easy to look at and is bright enough to be very clear. Now, keep in mind, the screen comes with all the downfalls of a TN panel, with viewing angles being rather lackluster, but while looking straight at the computer, there’s few displays you can get that beats this one for a sub $500 laptop paired with this powerful hardware. In conclusion,If you’re looking for a good laptop for under $500 that doesn’t look or feel cheap despite the (very solid in my opinion) plastic construction, this Lenovo is an absolute no-brainer. The Ryzen 5 and Vega 8 provides performance akin to laptops over double this one’s price. If portability, power, and convenience are what you’re keeping an eye out for, I can easily highly recommend this computer.Qualifications:- Information Technology Major-Computer Repairman for 4 years (both desktop and laptop)-PC system builder-Overall Computer EnthusiastThanks for reading my review!

  3. Performance in terms of speed is good. I comfortably installed CentOS, ran three VMs at the same time. No problem with performance. However, picture quality is really poor. It is whitish and difficult to see. In windows, font and screen sizes can be adjusted to some extent but in Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora and CentOS) it is terrible. If you only work in terminal (like me) it is just fine. But for watching a movie or playing graphics intensive games, this is not a good choice. Sound is really bad.

  4. The media could not be loaded.  I am loving this laptop so far, and I only had it for a few days. Key takeaway is how lightweight it is, which is a must-have for me when acquiring a decent laptop. Not too small when it comes to productivity and entertainment purposes, but not too big to where it will feel like I am carrying a cinderblock on the go, so great job on that, Lenovo. The material seems to be durable enough to withstand some minor damages, so no complaints about that yet. I found out that SSDs run faster than HDDs so that explains why the performance rate is so phenomenal! I love it! Boots up in seconds and I have not dealt with any stuttering after installing a good number of apps on to it. I also love how it turns itself on the moment I open the lid. Fascinating indeed, Lenovo! Lastly, the battery life is outstanding! It instantly charges up to 100% percent in a matter of minutes, and with the charger unplugged, the battery can last for up to 3 in a half hours give or take so high-five to you, Lenovo!I did a couple of benchmark tests on a gaming scale, and from a rating of 1 to 10, I will give that a 5.5 because some games can run good on the lowest settings (I am not picky when it comes to graphics, so I do not care for the extreme graphics quality when playing video games like most people do), but because this laptop was not built for gaming, I can’t make the rating any higher than that. Actually, this is my first time ever owning a laptop running off an AMD processor and graphics card, and I am quite impressed in terms of processor performance. I am now convinced that AMD processors run way better than Intel processors (comparing between the AMD Ryzen 5 vs. Intel Core i5 to be fair). As for graphics card performance, NVIDIA still takes the W, but like I said. This laptop was not built for gaming so no big issue on that.I really feel like a professional typer when using this laptop, and I do like the webcam shutter feature. All laptops should come with that!!! I typed this review up on this laptop so I can vouch for the keyboard layout lol. This laptop actually gives meaning to the name itself so thumbs up to Lenovo for that. Quick and easy setup. Sound quality is decent, but is not terrible. Resolution is quite basic on laptop screen, but I mean, this laptop runs smooth enough on 1920 x 1080, so solution for that is to connect to a 2nd screen for better experience when streaming videos and movies or watching them offline. Screen flexibility is nice. I like that I can level the lid far back enough to turn the laptop into a reader-mode like position if I want to hold it in my hand while reading an article on the screen or something. Wi-Fi connectivity is great. I have not used the Bluetooth feature yet but I assume its great also. The touchpad works well enough to where an optimal mouse is actually optional, not essential unlike most laptops nowadays. USB ports work fine but I do not like how they are positioned, and I tend to struggle to put USB devices into them every now and then, especially in the 2.0 port. Not sure if it’s because I am just weak or an actual design flaw. I even mistaken the HDMI port to be an USB port due to how they are positioned, but that does not affect the rating because I cannot control how Lenovo designs their computers so it is something I have to be okay with especially since I bought it. HDMI port works great, but I wish this laptop came with a display port. Headphone jack works perfectly with both speakers and headphones/earphones.In conclusion, I would recommend this to someone who just needs a basic laptop to do their work on, listen to music, and watch their favorite videos on YouTube or offline on a screen bigger than their smartphone. It is affordable, especially when you catch it at the right price before it goes up. Most importantly, manufactured by Lenovo, so you cannot go wrong with that. I will make sure I cherish this laptop for a very long time. Let’s hope I can manage up to 6 years with it lol unless I make enough money to afford a high-end gaming computer.

  5. Funciona perfecto, dura muy bien la pila, muy bonita, exelente para estudiantes.Me llego al otro día por Amazon.

  6. This product doesn’t have a touchscreen. It is light and easy had to handle. I bought it for my wife and she use please with it so far. It seemed to be doing what she needs.

  7. For the price, it comes with a modern Ryzen 5 5500U CPU with integrated graphics. Can play Valoren pretty well even at 1080p, but I downshifted the resolution to 1600×900 for even faster performance (70 fps). Boots up quick, has a fingerprint reader, solid performance and battery life is pretty OK. I think I get around 5 hours for this…not as good as advertised (8 hours) but still fine for a laptop of this class. Screen is not so bright but acceptable, in full HD. Overall a great buy and something that would fit most college students well!

  8. First off, don’t let the title scare you, it’s a great deal. The screen, unlike previous iterations, is gorgeous for the price – crisp and detailed. You can probably find the specs elsewhere complaining about SRGB coverage, but for the average user, sub $500, it’s great. Seems like it gets close to 300 nits, definitely bright enough indoors. Keyboard is very nice, not MacBook Air or the like, but very close – much better than Acer/Asus/Samsung. Trackpad along the same lines, very good overall, if you really want to nitpick, the clicking of it wasn’t the best on the edges for right/left click. Sound was decent, definitely a laptop speaker and does not get too loud. Fan noise isn’t noticeable unless you’re used to absolute quiet, the fans spun up under load when setting things up and windows updates, quiet and not grating on the ears. Build quality won’t wow anyone at the coffee shop but the plastic resembles brushed metal and it’s appealing over, say, the millionth grey laptop. Moderately serviceable under the hood, with one ram stick being soldered on (4 gb). Ignore the other reviews bashing Amazon’s delivery service instead of the product itself, this is a sleeper Windows laptop. Highly recommended for research/browsing, writing, and light gaming.

  10. OK, I broke my cardinal rule of making a purchase of a product with zero reviews. Looks like I will get to start things off. On a bang for your buck scale, this item looks pretty good! I ordered it without relying on feedback from anyone. I was salivating over the arrival of my new play-pretty and was delighted to find that delivery was ahead of schedule! It arrived this morning and was handed to me by the Amazon driver. There was no apparent damage to the outer or inner packaging. As per the description, I was aware that the product would not be sealed because the product had been upgraded with a larger SSD drive as well as a memory upgrade. Everything seemed to be in order so I charged it for a few hours and gathered the info I would need to make it my own. This was to be a replacement for my old laptop that had finally surrendered.Windows 11 welcomed me and I proceeded to start jumping through the multiple hoops required of me by my friends at Microsoft. About halfway through, the screen went blank. That should have been a warning. But, nerd wanna-be that I am, said ‘meh’…Let’s restart it and see what happens…Long story; short…After MANY restarts, blue screens, blank screens, driver updates, google searches, and no lack of consternation, I decided that it was time to cut my losses and try again. At this point, I had already managed to share some of my information into the operating system and other areas of this machine, so I needed to purge that before I returned it to folks unknown. After the third reset, one actually completed and I am hopeful that it is clean now.The good folks at Amazon (politics notwithstanding) have always been super to work with and they really do take care of their customers! I know how new products can have their glitches, and that beta testers are sometimes customers. I am hopeful that I can update this review with glorious praise for the seller and the product! Stay Tuned!!!

  11. Es exactamente como se describe, muy veloz, muy ligera fácil de transportar, muy buena resolución. Cumplio con mis expectativas.

  12. la compré hace ya un año y sigue funcionando bien aunque debí buscar mas

  13. This doesn’t have touch screen on my model. The FHD display really surprised me. It’s better picture than a lot of these TVs. As with all products they hide the defects from you until a month later. As soon as the 33th day rolled on I turned on the laptop and discovered sure enough it’s got a burnt pixel. No way to fix that without replacing the screen. Unless you have 5+ burned out pixels, good luck getting a return or any repairs. HP is still shady in that regard. I fully upgraded the machine when I got it. 16GB ram, 1TB Samsung 980 SSD. The performance actually is comparable to my tower in many respects. I have a Geforce 980, an octocore AMD CPU, and 24GB DDR3 ram in my tower. This laptop of course has a little less RAM, but it plays games about just as well as on my tower. I really am surprised at this. The cooling situation is absolutely garbage with this laptop. The engineers put the CPU exhaust port pointing directly into the hinge portion of the case. This makes it so the computer is actively fighting by blowing air into a 1/5 CM gap. There is just a row of holes in the bottle for air intake. I picked up a tray with a cooling fan pad and that solved the heat problem. I see it having problems in the future just because of how they designed the fan. The excess heat not only kills your hardware lifespan but it slows your machine down by auto throttling. If I could I would have installed heat spreaders all over the inside of this machine, but there just isn’t room. They couldn’t even be bothered to make the air inlets in the front of the case. It is asking to burn up after so many years deliberately. I had problems with HP in the past, they screwed up a laptop return I sent in, then blamed me for water damage when I had before and after pictures, so I’m not shocked at how they treat customers. I swore I’d not buy another HP but this one was just too cheap to pass up. It’s super light weight. The camera is nothing fancy, in Windows 11, you will find you lack all of your audio enhancement options. It’s instead been replaced by this crap HP audio tool. Ditch it as soon as you can and find something like Pulse audio so you can hear out of the cheap cheap cheap dog szzz cheap speakers. You’ll also want to get a good set of headphones. The performance is a little low unless you do add that second stick of RAM as so many other people have pointed out. The machine simply wasn’t designed properly, and they are taking it out of the consumers pocket by keeping them ignorant and not showing important aspects such as showing how the fan is smack dab in the middle of a 1/2cm gap. When you close the lid and open it after 20 minutes you’ll find it’s incredibly warm if you have it hooked up to HDMI. It forces you to keep the screen open, which isn’t good to have static screens. I honestly think the burned out pixel happened just from the excess heat, but there isn’t anything I can do about it. It isn’t that bad, but once you see something you can never unsee it. I have a warranty but again, it’s not going to cover this damage, so I spent money and not even 30 days later it has depreciated in value by the price of the LCD screen. The case is the cheapest plastic they could find. Given this was produced during the pandemic you’re left with another problem. Check your RAM speeds. If you get stuck with a 1R16 chip you’re basically having 1 librarian trying to organize 16 shelves, whereas the good ram 2R8 would be equal to 2 librarians keeping up with 8 shelves. Now you can see how the extra work load slows your machine. They don’t mention this in their sales page or documentation, and you’ll only find out AFTER you get it and run software to look at it, or pull the machine apart. Overall, I probably wouldn’t buy this machine again, even though it works fast for an entry level computer. It’s just too poorly designed. I give it a year or two before it fails. Most likely, knowing HP it will be 26 minutes after the OEM warranty expires. They used this planned obsolescence to rip off customers, and even though it’s been nearly 8 years since I swore I wouldn’t buy another one, they changed; for the worse.

  16. So this was the first non high-end gaming laptop I’ve ever purchased, with the intent of using it as a cheap laptop to carry around for school, work, and general basic use. To be quite honest, it’s surprisingly nice! After I got over the initial shock of downgrading to a 15″ display from my previous 17″, the screen is of good quality. The processing speed is not disappointing at all. The sound is great (it actually can get obnoxiously loud if you are into that). I don’t find Windows 11 to be offensive to use. Keyboard is friendly. It seems to be built well and feels of decent quality (not super cheap feeling). It’s light to carry. Loads videos and webpages quickly. No crashing or general use issues as of yet. I’ve even run the full Adobe Creative Suite on this thing and it’s running just fine. I’m really pleasantly surprised. And coming from someone who is used to a 5k+ Alienware Gaming Laptop (aka me), the fact that I don’t hate this thing is truly impressive enough. If you pressed me to find something I don’t love about it, I’d say the fan seems to run more than expected and the battery life is meh. It gives you zero warning before just shutting off after dying. But after the panic subsided that I had just possibly lost all my work, I plugged it in and hit the power button, only to be giddy with happiness that it just booted up with all my web pages still loaded and logged in the way I left it. So I am not even mad. No touch screen on my model. And I can’t attest to it’s gaming abilities because, well, I have an Alienware for that. Seriously though, best spent $400 ever.

  17. I needed a new laptop computer just for general use and this one from Amazon seemed like it would do the job. So far I’ve been very pleased with the machine. I’ve been using it for web browsing using Chrome and some general light computing work and it has worked great.I like the screen a lot. Text is clear and easy to read and 1920×1080 resolution is plenty for a screen of this size. It has been bright enough to use outside when I was working on setting up some networking equipment for a friend. The keyboard and track pad both feel nice and work well. I wish the little bumps that identify the home row keys were a little bit larger but overall it is pretty good.I have another 8GB of ram ordered so that I can have 16GB by just adding another card.Yesterday I upgraded the memory to 16GB using a Crucial CT8G4SFRA32A. This plugged right in but in order to install the extra stick of memory I had to remove the back from the computer. I had to take out about 8 screws and then carefully pry off the back using a plastic spudger. All done with no problems but access could be easier. This is my first machine with the Windows 11 operating system. Out of the box and in day to day use it has been very good. Adding my printers, applications and other stuff has been painless, sleep, waking up and overall power management has all worked well. The computer didn’t come with a huge amount of crapware to remove either. There were a few things like some McCafee stuff but nothing excessive.I have not pushed the battery life all that much but so far it has been very adequate for my needs.I’ve liked the machine well enough to order another one for a family member who needs a new Windows PC.So far so good after a couple of weeks and well worth the money.

  18. I was a little skeptical about this laptop considering the price, but I am amazed!Three things right out the gate: 1) It’s listed as Abyss Blue but it’s actually a silver/metallic color which I’m not angry about because it looks good. 2) It’s listed as 14″ but it’s actually 15.6″ which again I’m not angry about lol 3) It’s stated as Windows 10 Home for the operating system but it comes with Windows 11 which this is my first time using the OS and I haven’t run into any issues with it so once again I’m not angry! Now onto the rest: I read a review in which their laptop didn’t have the correct graphics card in it. I can confirm mine does indeed have the 6 core, 12 thread AMD Ryzen 5 5500U. In fact, everything else is as stated in the description and it’s wonderful! It is quick to start up and all programs so far run quickly. I haven’t tried playing a newer game on it yet so that will be the biggest test for this laptop that I would be able to put it through. Otherwise, it operates the web and my usual desktop applications perfectly fine. The few negatives I have: 1) The sound is not the best as the speakers are inside the elbow where the screen meets the body. 2) Even though the keyboard has a full ten key pad, the enter key is small and I find my finger hitting the 4 key rather than the enter some times (just have to learn this keyboard better) 3) The battery life seems decent. I’m taxing this system more than I am my work laptop, but it still seems to drain slightly faster than I expect.Overall I’m very happy I got this laptop so far as it has exceeded my expectations at pretty much every turn.

  19. Recently, I had the opportunity to experience the renewed HP 17.3″ HD Touchscreen Business Laptop, and my overall satisfaction is noteworthy. Let’s delve into the notable features and considerations:Pros:Speed and Generous Storage: The laptop, equipped with an AMD Ryzen 5-5500U processor, 16GB RAM, and a combination of 512GB SSD and 1TB HDD, delivers swift performance. Users who rely on quick top-ups while on the move may find this aspect slightly inconvenient. Conclusion:In summary, the renewed HP 17.3″ HD Touchscreen Business Laptop impresses with its performance and screen size. While the charging speed is a minor concern, it doesn’t significantly impact the laptop’s overall functionality.Pros:Swift performance and ample storageWindows 11 Pro sophisticationNumeric keypad convenienceDiverse connectivity optionsCons:Charging speedDespite this minor inconvenience, the renewed HP laptop stands out as a reliable choice for business-oriented users seeking a spacious screen and robust performance.

  20. I’ve received the computer about 20 days ago, and it’s fantastic. It is very responsive with all commands, has a great sound system, very lightweight and compact, very fast to use and to boot up, the keyboard is great, no scratches at all. The software, display, operating system, and hardware capacities are all incredible. The camera covering lid is also a game changer for me. It came in with the box and the charger, 0 details at all, except that some keys from the keyboard seem a bit dirty (see images attached) , which is the only downside I’m able to find with it, as well as the lack of a LAN port (which is something that I honestly overlooked while looking for a computer). I’ve only used it for 20 days so I’m not sure if the dirt on the keys is because of me.I tried a couple of games, and I would say that it isn’t 100% optimized for gaming, which I don’t really mind, since I bought it for university and work. Still, I would say overall I’m very satisfied with it!

  21. Lovely computer. Arrived ontime, fast, sleek. perfect for business

  22. The battery it’s great, I use my laptop for about 5 hours continues

  23. Personal use. Best laptop for the money

  24. Was in the market when I found a few places pointing to this as a good laptop to both use for work andsome light gaming. So far, only got it two days ago, and things are going well. It performs spectacularly, BUT, I must add, I put on a Linux OS since I refuse to use windows which it came pre installed with widow 11 I believe. That’s also a big reason for seeking out lenovo is that it’s very compatible with Linux OS’s.Only cons I can think of are these, which is the reason for only four stars.1) It’s a gray color and not the listed color.2) No key pad like in photos, which I was worried about at first, but I’ve come to like the size to space ratio in the smaller form. My old laptop was an 18 inch behemoth but I’m preferring this much more.3) It’s an ideaPad 1 not three. If it wasn’t for the fact it had all the internals as listed this would be a deal breaker but since it’s all there it really isn’t a big deal for me but might be for others.

  25. Very good product. Thanks Amazon!!!

  26. I am enjoying everything about my hp laptop.I can work from the comfort of my own home.

  27. Ordered abyss blue. Received a black laptop. Needed for school so decided to keep it. It quit working after about a year. Battery has to be unplugged and then plugged back in. Now that isn’t even working. Read the negative reviews… I made the mistake of seeing the overall rating and trusting that.

  28. Great laptop for its price point. Not a gaming machine but very capable for day to day use.

  29. Excelente equipo!

This laptop is a great quality. I got it for light gaming and general use. It plays Minecraft and most low end games I play on steam very well. I would recommend especially for the money.

  31. Overall the laptop was very good but it says it comes with the Ryzen 5 5500U but it came with the Ryzen 5 7520U and that cpu is very slightly slower than the 5500U but great laptop amazing for work/school and ok for games like roblox and minecraft
