  1. If you just care about the sound, get this. It sounds awesome. I mean, how such a (relatively) small speaker can deliver this quality of sound, I have no idea. It looks great, it sounds awesome and it’s portable and easy to move around…so whats there to dislike? Well, so far, I haven’t been able to use Bluetooth with it so I have to connect to it with a cable (I know, so 20th century!). The issue is that Marshall hasn’t released PC software (so my laptop is out) and when I tried to download the app to my Android it didn’t let me because my Android wasn’t the latest generation. Very annoying. So, i guess I have to buy a new new phone so I can use Bluetooth in my new expensive speaker. Not an ideal solution. But it’s difficult to be pissed about it because the darn heavy little box sounds sop darn good! So, if you have the newest Android or you don’t mind to use a cable to connect, get this speaker. You won’t find a better sound for the price.Update 4/26/19 (now it’s 5 stars)I haven’t had any power issues as reported by other reviewers. I use it almost every day and the sound is as good as it was the first time. I originally gave this speaker 4 stars because of the issues I had with the wireless connection but honestly….who cares? With a speaker that sounds this good and looks so stylish it deserves 5 stars. I have other means to listen to music and I always go back to this little guy. That’s the best recommendation I can give.Update 7/18/19As I type this I’m listening “O Fortuna” from “Carmina Burana” blaring from this speaker and I don’t get how be it can be labeled as “mediocre” sounding. Of course it’s not stereo sound…it’s not supposed to be. That’s like asking a Prius to accelerate like a Ferrari and then complain it’s too slow. For a stand alone small speaker, this is outstanding as long as you don’t expect something that it’s not. Is it expensive? Yes it is but, as usual, you get what you pay for and in this case, its quality, reliability and a great sound in a small package. Highly recommended as long as you know what you are buying.

  2. I tend to scour the internet for hours of reviews and YouTube videos and any information I can when it comes to audio/video/PC part purchases. It was between this, the older Denon Envaya and Anker Soundcore Motion+.(price point between 100 – 200.) I snagged the Stockwell II on WHD for 140 and it is undoubtedly the best BT speaker in my small collection.Moving up from mainly a Divoom Outdoor2 it’s such a difference. The sound is FULL and the onboard EQ edjustments are a real luxury. Bass is balanced, not boomy! Not muddy! Very clean. For those who don’t know the Outdoor2 and Stockwell II both have drivers on both the front and back of the speakers. The soundstage and stereo separation effects this does has now become a must-have for me. I don’t think I can’t use a BT speaker that doesn’t produce “360” sound in this way.The Stockwell 2 is the best off-axis, walk around the house, portable speaker I can think of. It sounds great from so many angles instead of just front and center. I love this thing. The black and brass version is super sleek.Main cons: It’s not super duper loud. If you’re taking this outside with other noises you’d be better off with a larger boombox style speaker. This probably won’t cut it for you. Volume settings 1-5 *are* pretty low vs. other boomier, muddier, mono sounding BT speakers.6-8 are mostly where I stay9-10 imo are plenty loud and would definitely disturb my upstairs neighbor. In conclusion, the Stockwell 2 is all about sound quality. And it provides that whether you’re at 10% or 100% volume – across all genres. Extreme metal, synthwave, R&B, you name it, it’s got you covered. Drop any bias towards the Marshall brand name – this speaker lives up to any hype and is worth every penny.

  3. My wife loves her music in the shower, so when her last speaker started to have issues she told me to start looking for something with an even bigger sound. The hunt didn’t go far because I received one of those random email from Yahoo that stated something like “The 3 Best Devices on Amazon that you Absolutely Wouldn’t Believe for less than $250” and in that article was an absolutely beautiful Marshall speaker. I’ve been around Marshall guitar amps for a long time, growing up around church musicians, and love their sound and clarity. I was hoping this speaker’s sound would deliver on the Marshall name.My hopes were fulfilled. Not only was the speaker clear, it was incredibly loud for it’s size. There is one flaw though Like several other reviewers I purchased this speaker thinking that it was a battery-powered Bluetooth speaker. I was WRONG! This speaker only works when plugged in. No matter how long you leave it plugged up, it will not work when unplugged. So when one reviewer said “I couldn’t get the battery to charge on this one…or the replacement Amazon sent out”. I got tickled. It only took me 5 seconds to figure out why it wouldn’t turn on.I wish the description was clearer from the manufacturer and Amazon. I now have another wonderful speaker but will now be ordering the Marshall Stockwell or Emberton speaker.*Update 6/14/21*This speaker is a hit at work. Because of the nature of our work, we can’t always reach over and change the song or turn the volume down. However, Alexa can! The built-in Alexa with the connection to Spotify and Amazon music is great! Everyone wants one now. The only problem is the fact it isn’t wireless and the price.👍

  4. Pros:- Sound quality is the best in it’s class. This speaker has lots of depth and is rich, immersive and crystal clear. I find that when I listen to this speaker about a foot or two away on my desk, it sounds so, so rich – especially with low-fi songs. The 360-sound effect creates a very immersive stereo effect. You learn to appreciate and notice it with more usage. Overall, I enjoy how this speaker sounds with most genres – especially genres with clear instrumentals and vocals. This is clearly not a giant bass monster due to its size, but the depth and richness in the bass is surprising, especially when set up about a foot away from a wall. Overall, I would give the sound quality a 10/10 compared to the many other speakers I have tested in the past (Sony, JBL, etc..). This may not be the loudest speaker for the price, but it is definitely the most hi-fi when compared to the other mono-sounding options. Personally, I find that it gets VERY loud for casual listening. Nonetheless, the sound that comes out of this little speaker is trippy. it gives off the impression (mainly when it’s close to you) that you’re listening to a large, rich speaker. It’s also worth mentioning that the quality is retained even in lower volumes.- Design. Easily the most beautiful bluetooth speaker I’ve had. Made from nothing but premium materials and it looks beautiful. Not much else to say here. It’s also really tiny which makes it more adorable and portable. Perfect for picnics.- Battery life. As I mentioned earlier, this thing gets plenty loud. I usually play music at around 30% on this speaker and find that it is plenty loud for casual listening. Most people may opt for 50% while around the house. Regardless, the battery life is insanely good. This efficiency in battery life has to do with the type of amplifier this speaker is.Cons:- Hmm… I can’t really think of any. I feel that it is priced fairly. While you can buy slightly bigger, more powerful speakers, they will simply lack the depth and richness in sound coming from this little thing. This is more of a high-quality listening experience compared to the “boominess” of larger speakers that feel like the sound is being muddled through some sort of barrier. Point is, anything below the retail price is a steal for this awesome speaker.Overall, this is such an awesome and special little speaker. It’s hard to compare because it’s very distinct in it’s own unique way when you factor in the crazy 360 audio + amazing clarity and richness in bass. They really nailed this one.

  5. I had to write a review for this Marshall speaker have to say it is absolutely amazing. Looks fantastic second to none (black and brass so sexy) and the sound is excellent for the size with surprising bass. Battery life is great and I really love the turn nobs too high quality. These are VERY pricey imo but it’s well worth in the end. I own Marshall headphones and they are awesome as well nice to see Marshall are keeping the quality up they have a dedicated fan here after purchasing the stockwell 2. – John L.

  6. To summarize my review this is not an Alexa Speaker. It is a Bluetooth speaker with good sound quality that also uses the Alexa SDK so Amazon music works too (because it’s required) The extent of its Alexa functionality is utilizing Amazon’s internal intents (weather, time, etc) and executing routines. Nothing more. For a detailed explanation:I have pros and cons.Cons:#1: This device doesn’t work as an Alexa speaker.I spoke with Amazon support and Marshall support. I setup everything correctly. This device does not support Alexa Skills – Audible, Apple Music, Spotify, Jeopardy – Any available skill in the Alexa app is not available via the Uxbridge. There is no documentation of what skills or alexa functionality is actually supported by the Uxbridge. *Amazon music is available because it’s a requirement of having an “Alexa-enabled device.” It can only access Amazon’s most basic features- what’s the weather?, what time is it?, etc…#2: The Uxbridge misleads you to think it supports Alexa Skills by advertising it’s support of Airplay and Spotify Connect. These services are connected via BLUETOOTH using a separate device, not your voice via Alexa.Examples:—“Alexa, play my Apple Music playlist Today’s Hit’s” Alexa: “Apple music is not supported on this device”.— “Alexa, play my book”Alexa: “Getting Ashley’s book from Audible… Sorry, I’m having trouble playing the book right now”— “Alexa, play Spotify”Alexa: (Thinking mode enabled) No response#3: Marshall Customer Support knows nothing about Alexa, Conversational AI, or their own product’s abilities or limitations. I found myself educating the Marshall customer service representative on how the Alexa SDK works. They obviously don’t actually know how the Uxbridge appears in the Alexa app and they’re just reading from a script.#4: Amazon Support knows nothing about the Uxbridge. Don’t even bother. They will just tell you to check your set up, see if it’s muted, try unpairing and repairing, do you have the Marshall app?, do you have the Alexa app?, etc — it’s condescending and not helpful#5: It is way too expensive to only be a Bluetooth speaker.#6: It was a huge disappointment to learn Marshall limited the Alexa features. If you read up on the SDK, they were just greedy and lazy. Additional features carry guidelines and requirements from Amazon so Marshall did the absolute minimum they had to so they could put the Alexa branding on their products.Pros:#1: The Bluetooth connectivity worked without issue for me. To be fair, I didn’t go far from the device with my iPhone 13 pro max. I literally sat right next to it. *Other reviews say they have had issues but I personally did not.#2: The sound quality is good.#3 It looks really cool.

  7. A few months ago I had an epiphany. When I was a kid my father loved to have the best in sound equipment in the house, and I would play with graphic equalizers and lay in the floor looking for the best position between the giant speakers to experiment how to better enjoy the music.Today, I hear music in monophonic audio in an old JBL Charge 3 speaker (don’t tell my dad, he would be ashame of me).So I started to get better equipment. Now, I live in a small apartment with thin walls in a 3rd floor, so, big amplifiers and so are out of the question, but at least I could get better bluetooth speakers, so I tried the Marshall Emberton II.To say that I impressed with the sound would be an understatement. With out-of-the-box settings, the sound is more than detailed. 80s and 90s music sound outstanding although, Peter Cetera’s Glory of Love and Toto’s Africa vocals sound as I never heard them before, they are sharp and strong, sometimes detracting just a little from the overall sound (keywords here, really, just a little). This brings me to my first recommendation: do not mess with your applications equalizers if you don’t know what you are doing. This speakers were clearly designed to use the manufacturer equalizer settings (more on this later). I have youtube music and amazon prime music (yeah, I know, no spotify), and my sound with the latter was to heavy on bass, to the point of drowning the music and feeling almost distorting. Tron: Legacy’s soundtrack sounded specially dreadful, as Daftpunk uses heavy bass in their electronic music for that specific music. I then set the equalization in Amazon Prime Music to flat. It was a different performance altogether. I could ever hear some slight effects they used, that I had not noticed before. Now, one down for the application. Bluetooth pairing used Google Fast Pair, which was seamless and impressive (it shows appears to be a custom Marshall little window, so, it looks cool), but the application takes forever to actually “discover” the device, even when it is already paired. When it finally discover it (which was not too long, but took a couple of turning on and off the speaker), the application notified me of a firmware upgrade, which I proceeded to install. The installation failed miserably, so, I temporarily stopped that effort, which I retook successfully a day later. The update was surprisingly big in size, taking around 5 minutes to download, and the application simply marked the update successful while the speaker was still rebooting, which took a few seconds more than what I feel comfortable with, but it went through, and after that, the application again took surprisingly long to detect the speaker. To end that topic, the equalization settings are definitely underwhelming, with only three modes: Marshall, Voice and Push, of which I have only tried Marshall as everybody else says that Voice is just for podcast and such and Push increases bass at the expense of all the other sound bands quality.Lesson learned: unless too picky, when using this speaker, leave your apps equalizers on flat, their profile is that good. Now, to the hardware itself, people will notice this little wonder. Using the nostalgia factor with the Marshall amplifier design was a touch of genius, and the brass button on top is the cherry on top. Some reviews complain about a single button approach to multifunction (power, volume, forward-back, bluetooth pairing has another almost invisible button, which fits because you are not changing your pairing frequently). If we can handle touch control on over-head and in-ear speakers, this button is a piece of cake.My only complain in this department is that, at least for me, an old guy, the signs indicating the functions around the button, being carved in the black speaker, which has texture, are for all intent and purposes invisible, but once you get accustomed, an use the logo as a positional reference that’s not a problem anymore. And finally, the little caveat. Single speaker, stereo sound. Let that sink in.Done? Ok, they achieve this trick by separating the sound left and right with drivers back and front respectively (or was it the other way around? well, you get my point). Stereo suffers a little (not too much) because both sources are incredibly close, but it brings this caveat. This speaker should not be set as others, against walls, like in shelf, and so, because you end up drowning one side. The best position for this speaker is in the center of the audio stage, and if you want to appreciate the sound, you should point one side (not the front or back) to you. that way both sources are equally distanced from you so you get a better balance. If you are ok with the caveats this product is worth the price, I definitely recommend it.

  10. It is really nice that in the end Marshall produces portable speakers I was using when I was young for my guitar, they really know “sound” . I wasn’t expecting that through Bluetooth you can access that kind of quality .

  12. Purchased all the three of the above portable bluetooth speakers as the JBL flip I have had for years had only one volume (Loud) and sounded more and more as it was coming through a tin can. When I lived alone I could crank music on my stereo through high end gear in most of the house, but now I have to be more considerate of my roommate. I suspected none of the offerings in the class of speaker were going to be great, but wanted something that at least didn’t make my fingernails itch. As I get tired of wearing ear buds/head phones, decided this was the perfect opportunity to try an upgrade. Thanks to all the purchasers who did reviews, it helps to limit the field and I do rely heavily on customer feedback in making a buying decision. So in last place without even listening to anything else was the Bose Soundlink Flex. It only sounded marginally better than the old one I have which is terrible. If that was as good as it gets I would have just stuck with constantly wearing earbuds. In the middle was the Ban & Olufsen Beosound Expore. The sound was much fuller and less muddy. While it wasn’t great it was tolerable. A bonus was that you got sound all around so would be perfect when you are working and moving in the room. While significantly heavier and bulkier than the Bose, it was in the middle size wise as the Marshall was without question the largest of the three. The app was nice as well although I don’t like using those to control my speakers particularly when working because my hands are usually busy and messy and don’t want to be handling the phone constantly. It had a small strap for carrying but it was definitely going to need to be clipped on to something very securely if you are moving around with it.The Marshall won by a mile. The sound was far more full, less muddy and with sound coming out both forwards and rear continued to give an all around sound as opposed to one direction of sound. Perhaps size is a function of sound quality because without question it is the largest. it is also the best looking. As I plan to use this around my house, it is perfectly fine in size and if the sound hadn’t been tolerable I was going to go evetn bigger with a plugged in blue tooth speaker even though that would have been a pain in the butt.Am I getting the quality of sound I would prefer? No of course not and I wasn’t expecting to as size is a clear element in recreation of sound. I don’t know if this will be as sturdy as the other two. Both of them seemed encased in .more shock absorbing materials. This was also the most expensive but not significantly more. Given the vast improvement in sound quality I was more than willing to pay a bit more and the Prime Day sale price definitely helped.I will update with use. I would have posted a video but based on my own listening to reviews, I realize that they are truly not helpful because what you are listening on will be big part of the sound you are hearing.

  13. Sound quality is great. Love this speaker

  17. This is great quality, you are buying a brand but the quality and connection to Amazon Alexa is great. It was easy to set up and I use it almost everyday!!! It’s great looking too!!

  18. Sounded great and love the look, this is larger than expected but still great. Sadly this unit stopped working about a month after we got it so had to return but will buy a replacement.

  19. The media could not be loaded.  The looks of this speaker alone is worth the money. It’s beautiful. It’s made so well. The black leather and gold detail is stunning. It was extremely easy to connect to my phone and I’m not very tech savvy. The sound is also wonderful quality. We play all kinds of music on it and have never been disappointed. It takes only a few minutes to figure out how to connect the Bluetooth. I also like that if you go a long time with out playing anything it won’t automatically connect your phone again so that it blares whatever noise comes from your phone unexpectedly and embarrassingly. You just reconfigure it when you want to.

  20. I liked everything about this speaker, except that is had a power cable. Looked great, felt great, nice Marshal quality. Just a beautiful robust speaker. But the power cable was a non starter for my particular allpication. If you don’t mind that, then I highly recommend.

  21. This speaker brings me back to the day when we had stereo systems with huge speakers! I am used to having the little bluetooth pills or smaller speakers. I got a new vintage looking record player and wanted a vintage looking speaker to go with it. This speaker was a little larger than I thought it was when I ordered it, but it looks super cool. The bluetooth connected seamlessly. And the sound!!!!!!!!! Whoa. I could host a block party with this thing. Outstanding!!!!!!The reason I gave 4 stars for portability is that The Marshall Stanmore speaker needs to be plugged in, and doesn’t use batteries.

  22. The media could not be loaded.  This is my second Marshall speaker. The first one I bought is a Stanmore II which I leave outside in a covered area YEAR ROUND WITHOUT ANY ISSUES. I was so amazed at the sound quality of the Stanmore II, I purchased this little guy for my kitchen after my Google speaker was having issues with connectivity and honestly poor sound quality. In short, I simply cannot comprehend how this little speaker sounds so amazing. I’m just as blown away with this one as my bigger Stanmore II.One thing that is important to me in replacing my Google speaker is the wifi connectivity and ability to access skills in Alexa which I use to control various devices in my house such as the Nest thermostats, 23 or so WIZ wifi lights, Jandy iAquaLink for the pool lights, pump, and pool/ spa heater and bubble blower. This little speaker works perfectly with all those skills and is so robust and quick that it impressed me as more responsive than the Google wifi speaker. So don’t worry, if you are looking for something that has great, deep, sound, works seamlessly with Alexa home integration, then this is a great choice!Another reason I bought this one is it seems to be the only Alexa enabled Marshall device offered. My Marshall Stanmore II I purchased in 2022 has wifi and Alexa connectivity but the newer models do not have this capability as far as the larger speakers being offered by Marshall.

  23. Everything you can ask for in a speaker. I purchased this to pair with my Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT-BK Bluetooth turn table, and it works perfectly. Pairing was effortless, and the crystal clear Marshall sound makes it worth every penny. Whether you’re listening to vinyl or streaming music from a Bluetooth enabled device, Marshall has perfected the sound that your music deserves.

  24. Feels churlish to give just three stars. 3.5 imo. So to the point. I bought this Em II to mainly listen to my true crime podcasts in my bedroom. Easy & seamless Bluetooth connection to my iPhone 14max. Easy straightforward use for controls on the unit. I really didn’t need to look at the instructions with that. Smooth use there. To test the sound quality I streamed some mesic. The sound quality for music is fine’ish considering the size of speaker. It’s fine for background music if you’re flexible on sound quality as long as you don’t play loudly, at that point the music will frazzle out. So limited, not surprising. Podcast quality is definitely an improvement from my phone’s speaker and in line with the price point, in general. I think it should be about $25 less. The app is useless. I guess I expected something from the app. I’m at a loss for the point of it. I tried it out on my phone. It continued so say my phone Bluetooth was not on. Even as I was literally playing music through it. I did all the stuff. Restart, reconnect etc. Reviewed the booklet, Nothing. Everything re the speaker and phone working fine. But what is the point of the app? I interpreted from the manual that I should download the app to get extra features. Maybe bass and treble controls? The book claims you can stack more speakers through the app but I would not invest in that as it continually says my phones Bluetooth is off. lolFine retro look, sturdy, small footprint and working out for podcasts. Do not think the app is or will be helpful. If I were to try another I’d probably go with the Klipsch of similar design. It’s approximately $50 more but better sound and working app.Remove $25 dollars off price on the Em II and it’s a fair deal.

  25. I’m so glad that I chose this speaker it’s amazing the sound is incredible and it’s Alexa ready right out of the box

  26. Buena calidad

  28. Like most Marshall equipment I’ve used this speaker works. It’s no nonsense electronics makes pairing it easy . You turn on all your smart stuff and when you down load the Marshall ap it just goes around installing the drivers in all your smart stuff very cool. Pairing is easy all you have to do it make sure the device you want to pair it to, TV, Smart Phone, desktop etc. is turned on , push down on the left most button till the little red light flashes and it’s a done deal! Doesn’t get any easier than that. I tried a Bose speaker and it only paired with my desk top one time. It had very low volume too and the darn thing was expensive! The ap you have to install in your phone played tricks on my Samsung phone so I sent the thing back to Amazon. I have to say that the Marshall ap is also most worthless but then you don’t really need it either once your devices are up and running on it. I’d like to hear the Marshall Woburn on my TV and desktop that would be cool! Way to go Marshall, now I have two Marshall speakers the Stanmore III and my MF350 Marshall half stack. I love’em both. Yeah I’d reccomend this speaker.

  29. Great sound!! And so pretty!!!

  30. The media could not be loaded.  The quality of the sound is great, you won’t be disappointed.

  31. Nice speakers

  32. Excelente altavoz, con unos bajos impresionantes, en definitiva Marshall nunca decepciona, la calidad de audio es maravillosa y limpia, la app bastante básica pero casi no se ocupa, en definitiva compraré más.

  33. I love listening to the rock and this speaker creates ultimate combination of perfect highs and lows and the bass/treble is on point. Worth every penny

  34. El sistema de audio a pesar de que no es inalámbrico, funciona a la perfección por su calidad de sonido. No es necesario tenerlo muy cerca para disfrutar de su calidad y fidelidad. La calidad del material es muy alta así como la resistencia de los materiales. Adicional por mas que se suba el volumen no se distorsiona el sonido. Para un espacio amplio el dispositivo cumple al 100% su propósito de dar ambiente musical de manera ya sea suave o alta.

  35. Sound quality is superb ,charging is fast and the battery does last long the premium charged for the product is justified.

  36. Not much to say. I looked up a lot of models and decided to try this based on the price and other reviews. I am very happy with it. Good battery, great texture, pretty good sound, and it’s small.

  37. A big upgrade over my previous tabletop Bose speakers. Really great sound quality with the capability to blow the walls down!

  38. Franchement je suis plus que surprise surtout en ayant vue des commentaire négatif dessus et elle est de loin la best seller des enceinte avec un design incroyable 😻 et du son voilà!! Et une connectivité facile!

  39. good sound quality, battery life, looks sexy, and it’s shower-safe!

  40. Love the special edition cream colour , the warm , deep sound for a speaker of its size , the cool retro aesthetic , small speaker , big sound , crisp clean synonymous with the Marshall name , two thumbs up 👍🏻

  41. Very good full bodied sound. It feels much bigger than it is. It has enough gut to fill mid to big room with qualitative sound. Very enjoyable listening.Though, the companion app is almost useless, doesn’t have equalizer and doesn’t work on Android 14.

  42. I don’t like Alexa, but this is a good little bluetooth speaker. Cool design and great sound.
